Delivered partially assembled, the packaging of this BBQ was the best I've seen on any product I've received. Each piece was individually wrapped and the generous use of styrofoam insured that shipping damage would be non-existent. Weighing approximately 100 lbs., this unit exceeded my expectations in regard to quality of construction. I ordered it without seeing the actual product beforehand and I was not disappointed. The stainless diffusers covering the burners keep flare-up to a minimum and temperature control is easy with the built-in gauge and three individually adjustable burners.
Four years ago I flopped down $99 for what I thought was a cheap grill to get me by for the summer. It's a two burner Aussie and still works great. In fact, I liked it so much I decided to upgrade to this three burner model. I really like the fact it does not have a side burner; they're such a waste to me. The side sheves are much more functional for my type of cooking. The grill is pretty heavy and has a very solid feel to it. I assembled it myself but could have used an extra set of hands. It grills nicely with very little flare-up even when cooking sausage. Another feature I really like is the top tier grate doesn't extend past the rear of the lower grate when the lid is fully opened. This allows any drippings to fall back into the grill and collect in the drip tray instead of ending up on the patio - NICE!
You need to replace the burners. Might as well buy a new unit. Almost $100!!! Grill body is like new....should have made them in stainless.
Good value for the past two years. Although cleaning it thoroughly after each use and the end of each summer, I need to replace all 3 burners, drip tray and adjoining pan as they have all rusted out, even though I keep the grill covered with its own personal cover. The cost of all will be expensive and difficult to replace. Not feeling like it's been a good choice now. I'm not seeing the real advantage of spending over 200.00 for a new one though.
Bought the Aussie Bonza Elite 3 to replace my Great Outdoors grill, for which I can no longer get parts. The Aussie unit was the closest thing I could find in terms of of looks and quality, so I didn't mind paying a bit extra for it and having it custom-ordered. While it's not quite as tank-sturdy as the Great Outdoors, it benefits from having separate spark ignitors for each burner and attractive wood trim. The "Aussie" logo in the front is a cloth panel that's stuck on with Velcro - just FYI. Had to order a canvas cover direct, because WalMart doesn't stock it - and it's rather pricey. But, can't complain - cooks great, looks great, compact. Assembles in a few hours (but you'll need two people at some point.)
