@nd one of the exact same model that I have purchased. This one for a 2nd home in Florida - thank foul to the seller of our condo for installing an instahot water heater thereby creating a “wine cooler closet” for this quiet, bullet proof, elegant wine fridge. Way better that the Wine Spectator version I had before. If I ever have a third Holm, it will have this fridge (or it's bigger version :-)
Great wine fridge that can be built in or free standing. Only complaint is the same one that nearly all wine fridge reviews state - shelves are about 1/8-1/4 of inch too close. Arrived in great condition & runs smoothly & quietly
Great Service, purchased built in wine coole
I purchased the wine cooler for installation in our new kitchen. We've been using it for 2 months and absolutely love it. It works great and is very quiet.
Quiet, good shelving, high quality. Only drawback is shelves don't fit larger bottles, have to use the bottom area only.
Clean design very quiet and functional - that is all you need. BTW the lighting is unique and a valuable option
Great size; and holds a lot of wine bottles. Nice looking as a free standing unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two Avallon wine coolers. This is the second one I purchased. Both have a couple of slightly different features, but I like this one better. The shelves pull out fully, allowing you to easily add and remove bottles. It seems to be easier to store high shoulder bottles (Bordeaux style) when you fill up the shelves and have to alternate bottles (interlocking so to speak). The first model, the shelves only pull out 1/3-1/2 of the way and the high shoulder bottles don't seem interlock as well as that model. Harder to get sloping shoulder bottles that are a little larger diameter into the first one due to the limited shelf extension. The display only shows the temperature setting. That first model shows both setting and actual temperature. I don't know the temperature swing on this model, but assuming the two are built identically except for shelves and control display, the temperature swing on the first one is 2-3 degrees per the display. This model has some "fancy" light features where you can change how the lights come on, blue or white, and if they stay on. I don't use that. Blue light, door open-on, door closed-off. Both models are installed in cabinets so are pretty quiet. When I bought the first one it was free standing, and when the circulation fan ran, it was a little annoying if the room was quiet. The circulation fan seems to run 30 sec.-on, 30 sec.-off. The compressor does not run that often. Again, installed in cabinets/under a countertop, you don't really notice it. When buying an under cabinet wine cooler, you have to measure very carefully. I thought I had 1/4-1/2" more height, but the tile floor took some of that height. It almost did not fit. I had to replace the adjustable feet which had thick plastic knobs on bottom with adjustable feet with thinner bottoms. Not a manufacturer issue, just something for the buyer to be aware of.
The wine cooler does what its supposed to do, but the lock at the bottom of the door doesn't work. I don't really need the lock and I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of returning it. The key fits but the design is flawed so it doesn't lock.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 of the exact same model and they are different. The door handles, the height and depth are all slightly different. While I had hoped to put them together I am going to split them up and find new places for them. They seem to be working fine, but are a bit noisier than I had hoped. Overall, if they weren't so large and such a pain to return--I would have sent them back.
