The nutrients infused into my waist-length silver hair by the Botanical Repair Strengthening Shampoo are so rich that it shimmers and bounces and feels oh so silky once again. If you have gray/silver hair, you know the texture gets a bit dry and wiry. Though the length of my hair has always come down to my mid-back, I let it continue to grow during the past year. I switched from Pure Abundance Shampoo to the Botanical Repair Strengthening Shampoo after trying a sample. The strength and bounce and shimmer is stunning! Thanks to this product, I look forward to keeping my long silver locks healthy for a long time! Thank you!
I have wavy curly hair that gets dry and frizzy and this line is the best I have ever used. I do not understand the negative reviews - my dermatologist told me that shampoo does not cause hair loss. Many things cause hair loss such as surgery, medication, stress, Covid, nutritional deficiencies ... but people blame the shampoo they use instead of going to a doctor to determine the actual cause. This line makes my hair soft and so full and voluminous and smooth and shiny and smells amazing!
I honestly don't understand the negative reviews on this shampoo. I was using it for a couple of years and it worked well for me. I had a bad experience at a salon and had my hair badly bleach damaged so last year I was trying out some other shampoos and hair products to see if I could repair it. I then developed seborrheic dermatitis and have been itching and developing severe dandruff since. I just tried this shampoo again and I'll have to purchase a full size. My scalp no longer itches and it cleans my hair well while leaving it super soft and not weighed down. Yes the absence of silicones means it may be a little drying for some, but I just use a silicone conditioner for my damaged ends. Unless you have an allergic reaction, no shampoo makes your hair fall out. I should've never changed from this one!
My hair is starting to grey and the texture is changing. I've tried a number of shampoo options these past 4 years and not found a favorite. This shampoo and conditioner gives me a lot of volume without any frizz. After trying a sample I bought a full size.
I am naturally a brunette and my hair is bleached out platinum blonde. During COVID shutdowns I broke down and colored my hair with box die and bleach (I learned my lesson). It RUINED my hair. I had breakage everywhere to the point I thought I was going to have to stop bleaching my roots for a while. I started using this shampoo and conditioner and OMG my hair is SO much healthier! No more breakage and my hair is finally growing!!!!!! I get compliments on how shiny and healthy my hair looks all the time! 100% Worth the extra $$$$$$.
I was first introduced to this product at an Aveda store. I was looking for some professional hair product so I bought the 100 ml bottle without reading the review online. I have to say, I can understand why the reviews for this product appears to be "binary". It took a few weeks for my hair to get used to this product. For me, at my first few trials with this shampoo, this product did not give me a clean feeling afterwards. I didn't give up right away though. I decided to continue using this shampoo+conditioner combing the use of my other routine hair care (non Aveda) product for hydration. After a few runs of trying, i finally felt like my hair was getting used to it. My hair looked nice right after wash+conditioner without my other hair product from other brands. Because of that, I became more confident with this product, as well as the conditioner, and feel comfortable of investing in this line of product by Aveda! I am removing one star from the review, because, sadly my first Aveda online order did not go that well. My shampoo showed up without the "seal" at the opening. I tried to contact Aveda customer service right away with a pic of what I received. The customer service was nice and told me my shampoo will be reshipped in few days. I was also told to dispose the first open bottle I received. However, after about a week, I didn't get any further notification nor receiving any new shampoo, while I almost have no shampoo to use at home. I contacted the custom service again, then was told that they couldn't find any record about the re-shipment. So I had to explain my whole situation again to the customer service. (Sigh) and the customer service again told me they will reship item. In both time, the customer service was nice. I just did not expect to wait for two weeks to get a new bottle shampoo, with two attempts talking to customer service. Ps: At the time I am writing this review, I till don't have my new bottle of shampoo....
My hair is over 40, wavy, and color treated. I previously used color conserve, but that product was reformulated, and the new formula felt heavy and filmy on my hair. I switched to this shampoo, but I'm not going to repurchase. It cleanses fine, but I feel like it's harsh on my hair. It lathers heavily, and my hair is extremely tangled afterward. I have to add leave in treatments to detangle and defrizz. The end result is flat, dry, unhealthy looking hair.
I have fine hair that I shampoo and condition every other day. I tried the Botanical Repair Strengthening Shampoo & Conditioner for at least two weeks. I did not use any other products with this combo. After every use it felt like there was still product in my hair. And it made my hair feel dry and it tangled a lot more. I would not recommend this for anyone else with long fine hair.
The shampoo and conditioner left my hair dry, frizzy and lifeless. I used the Damage Remedy collection for years and even my stylist would comment about how healthy my color treated hair looked. I've gone back to using the Damage Remedy and immediately saw a difference. PLEASE BRING BACK THE LITER SIZES IN THAT COLLECTION!
I love Aveda products. I usually get the shampure shampoo and conditioner but I tried the botanical repair just to try something new and Every time I wash my hair with it my hair falls out in big clumps. Super bummed about this.
