The low-profile shape of the AVS Hoodflector gives a modern look to a necessary trim piece for truck owners. I was getting a lot of small nicks just behind the factory chrome trim on the edge of the hood. I honestly had not even considered a bug shield until I saw the AVS product while searching for a grille insert. It was easy to install and looks great. I get a lot of compliments about the shape and fit of the deflector.
After finding the product on website, it was very easy to place the order. It arrived in a very short time. Installation was a whiz. It was ordered for my specific vehicle. It fits my vehicle perfectly and keeps the windshield free of most bugs, etc. I would recommend this product to all.
The AVS bug shield is a nice looking, good quality accessory. It was, however, a little more difficult to install than described. Once you remove the under-hood weatherstrip and install the bug shield, the OEM plastic weatherstrip pins are not long enough to reinstall the weatherstrip over the bug shield so I had to buy longer clips. Then the mounting holes in the bug shield did not align with the OEM holes on the underside of the hood so new holes had to be drilled. Finally, just throw away the included BS plastic screws and go buy stainless steel ones at a hardware store to hold your bug shield to your hood. Not the easy installation as advertised and took longer (and extra $$) to do it right but once installed (correctly) it looks great and functions well.
The product arrived missing a few parts. I sent them an email and they responded very quickly. Sent me the items at their expense and it now looks excellent on my truck. This company was great to do business with. They shipped quickly and took care of my problem in a super professional manner. I would buy from them again in the future as they do take great care of their customers.
Hoodflector is nice addition to my truck. Looks good and pretty easy to install. Only suggestion - longer screws would have made installation a little easier (had to fight with the screw a bit to get them to attach)
Great looking and appears to be good quality and fit. However, the plastic/nylon push pin screws they provide absolutely does not fit and will not screw in on my 2020 Ram 2500. I ordered a various box of other nylon push pins and found some that worked well and snapping in and holding the bug shield in place. The supplied part is just way to short and will not screw in. Luckily the multipack of various nylon push pins had one type that completed the job. After that frustration, I was very happy with the over all look and install. Holes and everything else lined up nicely. I'd say to put some masking tape down over the raised hood parts that may come into contact when installing. With all the initial BS trying to make the supplies push pins fit it rubbed the paint which I had to later buff out. On the second attempt to install I covered it with masking tape with no issues. Overall satisfied with the product, just not the supplied install parts.
Purchased for my 2019 Ram 1500 new body style. Easy ordering and fast shipping. The new inserts that came with it were less than impressive. I ended up taking it to have it installed. Very happy with it once it was installed.
The plastic screws given in the kit need to be thrown in the trash and replaced with metal screws. When I got the right screws the product stayed on the truck and was happy with it then. The plastic screws dont have the rigidity to hold the deflector on the hood other wise I was happy with the prioduct and purchase
Would have given this 5 stars except that it is not as easy as the directions or ads state. This is a 2 man job. You can not do this alone. Looks great when finished but is a bit complicated. You have to take your grill OFF!! Was not expecting that kind of work. Took over an hour to complete.
Product looks great and took about a week for shipping. However the installation was not as easy as it was made out to be. The plastic mounting hardware that came with bug shield was trash. Will be looking at getting different fasteners from the local automotive store.
