Beautiful Cradle at a Great Price

This is a beautiful cradle and comparable to the cradles that I saw at the boutiques for $200 less! My husband put this cradle together in under 45 minutes. It has a beautiful finish, rocks without squeaking, and has the ability to lock (so that it won't rock). It only comes with a very thin pad. I bought the cradle mattress at walmart for only 18.88 and it is perfect. The base of the cradle is a particle board. However, it is secured with a metal bracket. My husband said that it should hold up fine. He also said that it would be easy to cut a replacement if it did not. By the way, all of the cradles that I looked at in the boutiques that cost $300 or more, had the same pad and the base was particle board. Conclusion, this is just as nice as a more expensive boutique model. Also, I looked at bassinets and the bases on most of the bassinets that I looked at were much flimsier than the cradle bases. Also, the bassinet pads were even thinner than cradle pad! Usually, they don't even sell extra mattress for bassinet. THIS CRADLE IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY! It also comes in other finishes.

It was easy to set up and it looks spectacular! Matches my bedroom furniture perfectly. Did not have one with my first child, but decided it was definitely something I wanted to have for my second one. Can't wait till she arrives!

Worth the Price

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and was easily able to assemble this cradle on my own in an hour. There are only pictures in the directions, but everything is properly labeled so you can match the correct pieces together. It is a little larger than most cradles I've looked at, but it is beautiful. I measured its assembled size at 36"Hx23"Wx41"L. I do plan on buying a new mattress pad because the one inch pad just doesn't look like it will do the job. I didn't order it at the time of purchase because I wanted to make sure I ordered the right size, which is 34"Lx17"W. Really, the only reason I gave this product 4 stars vs. 5 stars was because of the locking mechanism. As stated in other reviews, the pin does fall out very easily, which I have remedied with a pretty ribbon tied to the pin which I can then tie to the cradle leg to keep in place. Also, even with the pin in, it still rocks a little. Not enough that I think a baby will notice, and it is certainly still stable. Overall, I would recommend buying it for its overall quality and wonderful price.

This bassinet is ok. There is a lot of assembling, and no written directions, just pictures, so there is a lot of guessing. The pad that came with it is really really thin, and bassinet sheets are too big for it (most sheets require a thicher pad). But if all your looking for is an expencive box to put your kid in, this is perfect for you.

The base of this cradle was very thin and flimsy. I felt it will not hold the baby. I had to return this product.
