Zinc is contained in this specific bottle although it is not listed on the website, it is on the actual bottle at 4%. This bottle, as well as, the non pump style bottle contain zinc. The other banana boat kids line do not. This brand is much cheaper than the other zinc containing formulas. There was no equate brand to this specific type.
This mineral blend is supposed to be safer than the chemical blends with the oxybenzone.
I applied this liberally to my fair skinned son. After 3 hours of being in the sun, he still burned on his shoulders and back. He took breaks about every hour and got in the shade so wasn't in direct sun the entire time. This product is also very difficult to get to absorb. You have to rub and rub so no white streaks remain on the skin. Even then, you still look a lighter shade.
