The series of Lucy dolls by Mattel has been tremendous and now we can add Ethel Mertz to the collection with this fabulous set! The resemblance is wonderful in both characters and the famous identical evening gowns that the gals tore apart on stage are dead ringers for the real thing. You will love this set, which can only be found at Wal*Mart!
I tried to find this doll on line, using other avenues. It was priced at least $10-$20 more on several different websites, and in some cases upwards of $50 more! I have ordered several items from Walmart.com and have been pleased with all of my purchases.
An Amazing collection. Mattel for years has been releasing highly detailed and collectible Lucille Ball dolls fashioned after a memorable episode of "I Love Lucy". For years I had hoped they would release a Vivian Vance/Ethel Mertz doll. After all Vivian was truly fantastic in her roll. Finally! Here they are. Great job Mattel!! The likeness to Vivian Vance is perfect! I was worried they wouldnt capture Vivian's look as well as Lucy's, but fear not..a great resemblance. The gowns are perfect and this set was a perfect choice- "Friendship"- now Lucy and Ethel will always be together. Buy them while you can- this is sure to be one of the most sought after sets in years to come. Let's hope Mattel continues this idea and releases a Lucy/Ethel combo a year. After all- so many choices- Lucy/Ethel as marians, The Charm School, Little Ricky's School play with Lucy as the bad witch and Ethel as the good witch, The Camping Trip...SO many I would love to see. GREAT PRODUCT!!!
THIS IS THE BEST! MATTEL DID AN AWESOME JOB ON THESE AS GOOD AS THE GOLD LABEL LUCY'S! HUGE FAN AND I HAVE THE COLLECTION IT'S GREAT. THE BEST GIFT IDEA FOR YOUR BEST FRIEND AT ANY OCCASION! LUCY AND ETHEL ARE SO REALISTIC! THIS IS THE FIRST ETHEL DOLL BY MATTEL AND WILL MAKE THIS SET WORTH MUCH TO THE COLLECTOR! =)
I have collected all the I Love Lucy Barbies and this set is one of my favorites!! Lucy and Ethel's likeness is remarkable to say the least and their gowns are beautiful!! (Be sure to check out their earrings!) I have nothing negative to say and would recommend this set to anyone who loves a quality I Love Lucy product.
I collect Lucy Barbies, so I was excited to receive this set. The product itself is great, But I was very disapointed in the shape it arrived in...the box was heavly damaged, so I returned it to walmart and requested a replacement instead of a refund...I am now waiting to receive the replacement and I am hoping the box will be in good shape - if not I will return it for a refund. I will write a review of the replacement when it arrives.
I am a collector of the Mattel line of I Love Lucy dolls, and as a Christmas gift, my daughters gave me a gift certificate to purchase this doll set, which is #13 in my collection. Now, I have them all until the next one! It arrived on time, in good condition and I am enjoying it tremendously! I love Wal-Mart!!!!
What a great collectible! How great to have Lucy AND Ethel together in one box, and they represent the perfect episode--Friendship. A must have!
This long awaited duo is a sight to behold! The famous episode #69 where the girls buy the same gown is depicted here in full color. You can practically hear them singing, Friendship, as they yank pieces of the gown off of each other. A hilarious show and classic pair of comedians. Buy this set while you can, as it is soon to become highly collectible. The dolls' details are gorgeous, as are the gowns, right down to the flowers on the sashes. This is the only Mattel set featuring Lucy since they started issuing these dolls. The original set was Enciente with pregnant Lucy and Ricky Ricardo in his dapper tux.
Of course the dolls are beautiful. I was a little disappointed in the condition of the box. I ordered this from Walmart.com and had it delivered to our local store. It is clearly a packaging problem and not the fault of the store. It was packaged in a box that was too small and altered to cover the Barbie box. I am disappointed with the dents in the box. I like many others collect this series and I will probably take it back to see if I can exchange it for another.
