I bought the Belkin RF Modulator so that I could connect a new DVD player to my 1997 TV. I had no idea that my old TV would only have ONE connector in the back, and that's for an antenna! So I now connect the TV to the RF Modulator, and then the DVD player is connected to the modulator. Perfect little set up for a playroom where the occasional DVD will be viewed, but regular television isn't necessary (though I assume the modulator would work with a digital converter box as well). Great buy, great product!
Product is perfect for tv's in childrens bedrooms, or students dorm room. But i reccommend if its in stores to buy it there and not use site to store. Its a nightmare. I used site to store twice and both times were just plain awful.. The item was received at the store but you have to deal with Wal-Mart staff. I had to wait along time and the associates do not know what there doing.
I purchased this site to store, as they had the best price. They said it would take two weeks for delivery, I got the email it was at my store in 2 days. Fantastic! Product does exaclty what it says, and is very inexpensive. Saved me from buying new more expensive pieces!
This product saved me a bundle. It would have cost a few hundred bucks to buy a new television set but thanks to the rf modulator I still get to keep my old tv AND use game consoles, dvd players, whatever new attachment I would like to hook-up to the set. It was very easy to hook-up.
Excellant choice for use with a TV having only cable connection, it allows us to use our old TV for the grandchildren to play their games on.
Great to use with an inexpensive scan converter to watch everything (minus the better detail computer monitors deliver) on your computer on a television, even old antennae only (300 ohm) televisions from as far back as the ntsc standard (and maybe others) was finalized. Easy way to watch pay computer movies on an old or new television when used with that inexpensive scan converter!
I wasn't sure if this product would work per the satellite technician and this was the least expensive one that I could find. I switched over to HD TV and the satellite receiver does not have a coax cable out hook up on it and we needed an RF modulator to hook up the TV down stairs. I hooked this up in less than 5 min. myself. This unit works perfectly! We get a great picture on the TV down stairs. I used site to store ordering. The unit came from CA. I live in IN. It was shipped over night to IL. then was in IN the following day! Great service Walmart!! I highly recommend the modulator & Walmart's services.
I have an older TV that needed one of these things and since it's obvious I have no technical knowledge concerning home entertainment equipment, I purchased the lowest priced modulator I could find, not knowing if it would fit my needs. It works perfect, it was super easy to set up and now I can use my Roku, all for under $15. Can't beat that.
I only have one issue with this product so far. The weight of the unit is so little, and the base size is so small that the weight of the attached cables will not permit the unit to stand upright. It would be great if the manufacturer would design a weighted base on the next model so it will stand upright when the cables are attached. Other than than this issue it is a great item!
I have an old TV, so I'm stuck with the DTV box. My VCR/DVD player died and when I purchased a new one I discovered it would not connect. After my son spent time with the tech people on the phone, we began to price shop. Walmart was the cheapest by at least $8. So even though I wasn't thrilled by having to buy "something else" it all worked out okay...and the part was only available online.
