[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tomato and basil is my absolute favorite flavor of sauce for my pasta. Bertolli has a quality sauce in this jar. The basil is not overwhelming nor is the acidity of the tomatoes. There's some delicious sun dried tomato chunks to add variety to the sauce consistency. This isn't a boring marinara but it isn't overly complex, it's a comforting simple combination that fulfills the pasta cravings.

This pasta sauce is made with vine-ripened tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, leaf basil, and herbs and spices,and without no artificial colors. Combined to compliment the flavor not over power each other, containing 11g of sugar it's not sicking sweet. A 24 oz jar provides 5 - 1/2 cup servings. This is a hearty sauce with decent chunks of tomatoes that has a robust tomato flavor with the slightest hint of Basil. Not only is Bertolli Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce great on pasta, baked vegetables it's also a super dipping sauce. This sauce is definitely worth buying again and again !!
I love the Bertolli Tomato &Basil. It's bursting with flavors. It's full of vegetables and seasoning. Only uses a ingredients. It's not too sweet. The flavor is rich and definitely authentic. Super versatile and high quality. Highly recommend for any meal.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bertolli Tomato And Basil Pasta Sauce is the closest to rich and fresh tasting you can get in my opinion. It is so rich with ripened tomatoes and wonderful seasonings, that I admit to eating it from a spoon straight out of the jar. Besides the obvious pasta dishes, Bertolli pasta sauce can be used to make snacks, dips, and a variety of other wonderful dishes. I do stop short of putting it on my ice cream.
First thing I noticed when opening this was the amazingly fresh smell, you could actually smell the basil and it has a very robust fresh tomato smell. I used this to top fried eggplant and as I was spooning it out of the jar I was very surprised at how clean the sauce was, it is thick with just the right amount of tomato chunks that there was basically nothing left in the jar when I was done. None of the sauce coating the whole inside of the jar! This was my first time trying bertolli sauce and I loved it! The taste was so similar to homemade I could not tell the difference, and the basil flavoring was absolutely perfect. Not overwhelming but you could definitely tell it was a key part of the sauce. It had a great taste with no fake sweetness to it, just amazing taste and texture!
Until I can master my Aunt Peg's 100% authentic Italian sauce that takes about 2 days to assemble and simmer --I'll buy off the shelf. Much as I love Aunt Peg's sauce and Uncle Bob's too....it's so much easier to find a good retail sauce and 'tweak' it. Finding a good sauce isn't a problem--anymore. It used to be fairly grim in the store aisles--sloppy sugary thin sauces and packets of dry spice. Sometimes the packets were better suited to hamburgers and meatloafs--they added some 'zip' to an otherwise bland main course. I tried Bertolli Tomato and Basil last month and I'm on my soon to be 6th jar. This is a lovely light and fresh tasting sauce--it isn't watered down or too thick. It doesn't simmer all over the stove and it isn't so thick that it clings to the meat and becomes a pot of sloppy joes. I add mild Italian sausage browned and cut in chunks. I'll use a good ground chuck or sirloin something not too lean or fat. A crisp cold salad with Naturally Fresh dressing (our fave) and some soft Italian bread.Black olives mushrooms and leftover chicken breast will (sometimes) 'fall' into the pot.Sauce still tastes good on day two. I plan to try every Bertolli sauce including Vodka and Alfredo,we're so daring!! Thank you
The sauce has the lowest sodium of all brands at Walmart. Also sugar count is low. My husband's diet requires management of both salt and sugar. It is difficult to find a product that meets both requirements. This one def does and is tasty too!! Will continue to buy and recommend to others!

I always make my sauce from scratch so was somewhat dubious about using this but ingredients were what I consistently use. I was very surprised to find sauce was very good. Taste was spot on! Sauce was nice and thick. I will definitely use this again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great item for a fast easy dinner! Big chunks of tomatoes and a nice flavor. It may not be homemade but one is eating a good dinner in under 15 minutes with this product! i did not think any extra seasoning was needed.
I'd give it a 5 stars but I'm not fond of chunks of tomato in my sauce. The flavor was excellent though and I'll buy again.
