This product exceeded my expectations in appearance and was very easy to assemble. It will remain on a covered porch, so I expect that it will last a long, long time. If it were to exposed to the elements I'd probably treat it with a sealer first.
Only reason this item didn't get 5 stars from me is when I received it it was missing a hinged that connects the back to the lid. Other than that I LOVE the material of the product! Very sturdy! Breathable to keep things from getting mildewed or stinky from being air tight. Once I get a hinge and can finish putting it together and get a good pic I will Write another a review and add a picture :)
Returning to Walmart. Nowhere in the description did it state that the bottom was slatted and open. It says "solid wood" which would indicate that the entire box is solid. This will not suit my purpose. The description should say "slatted bottom". Also, the package was damaged and the top/front of the box was scarred.
Don't waste your money!! Purchased this box last August to keep our outdoor patio furniture cushions from the elements - sun, wind, rain, etc. During the winter, we decided to bring our furniture cushions indoors as we weren't sure the box could keep them from mold over the winter months. Come spring, we noticed the entire top of the box had warped. But were willing to put up with it because it 'looked nice' - we simply added hooks and eyes to latch down the cover. But then it rained and rained and rained and low and behold EVERY time it rained our cushions got wet. So needless to say, it is not 'water tight' as listed. And honestly is BY FAR an outdoor storage box if the top is warped not even 1 year later. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
