Summer and fall always brings annoying little buzzers that just love to bite me dotting my neck, arms, and legs with little bites. Repellent stinks something awful and that too can irritate skin as much as bugs! I've used this a few times so far for bug bites and other minor skin irritation. Using it is super easy, turn the power switch on, put the heating plate to the bite, and push the button once or twice. The ring around the button will light up but the heat plate also heats up quick. Either a 3 or a 6 second blast. The heat is a little unnerving the first couple times using it, but I never felt as if I were in danger, and I haver had any red marks like a burn (on un-bitten skin). I don't have a way of measuring the actual temperature, but its similar to touching a hot coffee mug for 3 seconds. Not enough to cause damage but hot enough to worry you. As for stopping itchiness, it does reasonably well considering there are no chemicals, odor, or further skin irritation. Its not a magic wand so multiple applications may be needed depending on your skin but its so easy to do so I don't' see this as a negative. The unit itself is so compact and lightweight you can put it just about anywhere in your car, bag, cooler, wherever you may be going outdoor. Just 2 AAA batteries that last hundreds of times. Overall it works, its tiny, and doesn't hurt too much; I'd rather have a little bit of heat over itching for days.
This insect bite healer is awesome. I am always getting eaten up by mosquitoes when I plant in my garden and recently used this bite-buster to stop the itch. I was a little surprised by the heat that was emitted for the short 3-second treatment, but it actually gave me instant relief. Plus it is small enough to put in my pants pocket. I only wish it would emit some sonar to keep the bugs from biting in the first place.
This BEURER insect bite healer BR60 is intended to minimize pain, itching, discomfort after insects bites. It comes with two AAA batteries. The device has a heating plate 1/4 inch in diameter. There are two operation options: 3 seconds and 6 seconds treatment time. To start 3 seconds treatment time you need to press pulse button on the middle of the circle one time; the LED status light will illuminate half of the circle. To start 6 seconds treatment time you need to press pulse button quickly two times and the LED status light will illuminate the whole circle. It turns OFF by itself at the cycle end. The operation is easy: - Turn ON the switch on the device, then press and immediately release the pulse button on the middle of the circle on the face panel one time. The status LED light of the half of the circle will illuminate in blue which indicates that device is ready to use. - Place the heating plate of the device on the bite area and keep it there while you feel comfortable. Remove immediately if it burns too much. BEURER recommends to use the healer as soon as possible after being bite in order to get maximum healing effect, but it helps as well if you use it later, maybe with slightly less effect. I would say that the device really helps to reduce pain, itching and discomfort after insect bites, but we have to use it very carefully because the heating plate produces pretty powerful heat, so, a person with a sensitive skin can feel unpleasant burning. I would say that every person has to use it by himself/herself, do not use another person assistance, so, if it burns you will be able to disconnect it from the skin immediately. I personally used 3 second cycle and it was enough for me to heal the bite spot. Six seconds cycle brings some unpleasant burning feeling to me, but it is my personal reaction. I am sure that a lot of people will use the six seconds cycle with no issues. I doubt that this device should be used to heal insect bites on small kids with their gentle skin.
Very interesting device. How it works is that there's a small ceramic plate that generates a heating affect which in turns allow the saliva, sting and or poison from the insect to desolve. You want to make sure to read the insert in order to use properly. The device takes two, triple a battery operated (included), it's small, lightweight, and easily go in your camping bag, pocket book, etc. Good to use while camping or any summer time activity esp for our elderly and young ones. There are two modes, one generates a low heat, the other a longer heat both under a minute in duration.. The LED light comes on after pressing the circle. Press once for light few seconds, twice for longer application. You can feel the heat coming from the device. There are a lot of instructions for your safety so you have to read the manual before use. We like this device and would recommend.
I was a bit skeptical of this item at first, but wanted to give it a try as a non chemical alternative. I haven't had the opportunity to test its sting healing abilities yet, but from an itch perspective it seems to work good. The unit fits easily in the palm of your hand and you just have to put in the batteries and turn on the unit and follow the directions and apply the head of the unit to your bite mark. I have horse and deer flies around my property and a ton of mosquitoes living down in South Georgia and so far have been able to use this on just mosquito bites. It helps relieve the itch which is nice and being that it is chemical free is a great plus, especially to anyone with sensitive skin. I would recommend the product and would also comment on the sting aspect of it, but I haven't been stung yet by anything other than a mosquito to test that side of things. Thanks!
The device works as intended to help stop itching and swelling of bug bites. I found it works better at 6 sec than 3 but if you are using it on a child I would start with the 3 sec interval and see how they react to the heat. It does get hot but that is what stops the bite in it’s tracks. I did have to use it several times and the relief wasn’t long lasting for whatever bite I had but it didn’t swell also it stopped the itch for a bit. We will continue using this in the future.
I tried this insect bite healer after I had received quite a few mosquito bites around my feet and ankles. It is easy to use, and is ready quickly. I used the setting for 3 seconds first. For me, it was Very Hot. I did not think I had sensitive skin, but apparently I do. Later, I had friends try it. One reacted the way I did, and the other thought it was fine. I was able to survive the 6 second setting as well, but it was a challenge. The instructions say that the sooner you use it, the better, but I think I would resist using it until the itching became hard to take. For a child, I would be hesitant to use it, as the bite healer could be more uncomfortable than the bite itself. Now I do have to say that the foot I used it on did not itch. The other foot was very itchy. So I would have to say that it did work to reduce itch, and heal. So if you can suffer the heat for a few seconds, this device will be helpful to you.
The Beurer insect bite healer sounds like a good idea, however I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids. I first tried it on my forearm which did not have any type of bite on it. My reaction was that it stung a little bit but wasn't too bad. Now having said that, my son who is 15 so not a young boy, had a very itchy bite on his leg and I told him we could try this new device on it . He agreed. His reaction was OWWW! That hurts! But after a few minutes he said that the bite didn't itch anymore so I guessed that the bite healer actually worked. Now for my personal experience. I had a mosquito bite on my shin that was driving me crazy with the itching so I thought what the heck I'll try the bite healer on it. The device has two settings on it. One is for a 3 second burst and the other is for 6 seconds. I used the 3 second setting and I gotta say it really did sting a lot. But the itching did stop. With my experience I not sure how willing I would be to use it on a more painful bite like a bee sting. I think that if you use it on a small child they will never want you to do it ever again. So I'd say it's fine for adults but not for kids.
We get bit up at the lake, so I got this to treat the many itchy bites that I usually scratch until I bleed. It stops the urge to scratch until the next day. Here is what to expect,…. it has a mini hot plate the size of a bug bite. I turned it on and did the lesser of the two treatments, which takes 3 seconds. I placed it on my bite and it heated up to quite hot. Just as it hits the point where I say “ouch!” it shuts off. I'm too afraid to do the 6 second treatment. Initially I thought I would be able to use this on my dogs,….but there is no way. Also,….I would not use this on a baby or child. It's small enough for me to carry in my purse.
The concept of using a chemical-free application for bug bites is a good idea. However, it didn't work for us. My husband had several bug bites from mowing the grass. When I used this device healer on him, he jumped. He said the device felt like a burn and it didn't do anything for his bug bite. He was still itching. Needless to say, he didn't like it. Nor did I when I used it after a bite. It didn't make me jump, but I didn't like the heat.
