I'm surprised at some of the bad feedback here. It smells and tastes just right to us. Both the vegetarians and the non-vegetarians in our home love it. I was actually thinking of trying to rehydrate it in my cooking but can no longer find it in my area. I used to buy this at a local Walmart until they stopped carrying it. I live in a densely populated area of my state (I have 4 Walmarts within a short driving distance) but I can't find this product anywhere within driving distance now. The closest Walmart that carries it is 1.5 hours away. Once in a great while we are in that area so I try to stock up, if they have it on the day we are passing through. Wish I could just order these online.
Beyond amazing!! So much flavor and goodness in every bite! Iv tried many vegan jerky and didn't like any of them! This is almost like the real thing but far better! Accidentally ate a whole bag the first time I tried it. Please Walmart keep this in stock!!!
I am vegetarian and LOVE the Beyond Meat Jerky. Yes, some pieces may be a little tough to chew, but the taste out weighs the jaw exercise. Less fat, less salt and great flavor. I prefer the Original. I too trust that Wal-Mart will continue to carry Beyond Meat Jerky. I appreciate the lower cost of $3.?? vs the $5.29 price on the bag. Thank you and PLEASE!!!
this is so good, in my opinion this flavor is 10x better than the teriyaki recipe. This is a good snack for all. Also good for families that enjoy camping or adventures together but some members don't eat meat. they won't feel left out with this jerky product.
I am an eater who likes vegetables! My kids love jerky, so I was interested to see this plant-based alternative. It does taste like jerky and has the same texture as the meat alternative. I think this product would be great for someone who is transitioning to vegetarian or plant-based diet.
I was really curious to know what this new product tasted like because I am a jerky aficionado. I've made it many times and eat them anytime more and I could not imagine how anything that was made from a plant could taste like beef jerky. I decided I was going to buy some just a couple days ago when I saw it at the checkout at Walmart. I used my Ibotta discount of 50% off of up to five packages and I bought three packages. At first bite I thought it was a little sweet but my brain said to take another bite so I did and then the magic happened..... it tasted just like real jerky! then came the fun part; how many ways was I going to eat it? not only is it good out of the bag but it makes a mean Gyro! just grab yourself some pita bread, leaf lettuce, tzatziki sauce, feta cheese and some onion or whatever else you want and top it off with this beyond meat to plant base and jerky for a delicious and different way to eat jerky (see mine pictured below.) BTW, the crumbles at the bottom of the bag make excellent additions to salads and pizza!
Yikes. I eat meat but wanted to try this. Simple summary... Not good. I'll go as far as to say, it's bad. The flavor is horrible and sticks on your tongue like a wet towel. Neither of my boys liked it either. Again I eat meat so this was just a failed attempt but I feel for those of you who don't, because this would be a bleak jerkey future with this on the menu.
Don't eat it! I ate 2 pieces to try it and it made me sick to my stomach. Maybe I'm just sensitive or even allergic to one of its ingredients but that's not the only problem. It smells very bad as soon as it's open and the odor lingers in the room for a long time afterward. The taste is not great but the smell makes it almost inedible.
I ordered and paid for 4 of this fake meat jerky, got only 3. I need to be able to send to Washington state for Christmas…..please help
The smell when I opened the bag made me question my purchase but I went ahead and tried a piece. Dry and flavorless and it leaves a linger in your mouth. Had to chew forever to get it down. I ordered other Vegan Jerky and look forward to trying that.
