I think these pencils are awesome. Very colorful! All I would want to know if this product is safe for my kids! Yes they are! Certified non toxic! They are bigger then any regular pencils. Ultra solid.break resistant lead. Other words they last longer then any other pencils! I like writing with them! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I think these pencils rock! My kids love the bright colors verses those boring yellow pencils. My daughter loves that she can actually erase her mistakes without breaking off the eraser or leaving behind those awful smudges. I love that these pencils stay sharp longer and are break resistant. I am so excited that I have found a decent durable pencil for this school year and even better my kids love them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The pencils are good quality, but not quite up to excellent. There's a compromise to be made between durability and a rich dark line. These pencils lean toward durability, so they don't write quite as dark as I like a #2 pencil to. They write smoothly though. And the erasers work well. They aren't destructively abrasive to paper. I thought they might be replaceable, but after pulling one out, I found they couldn't be put back in. So no-go on replacements. They do have an interesting characteristic. On the package is a picture of one of the pencils being tapped on the point with a machinists' hammer. It looked like an amusing test, so we couldn't resist trying that out. We found a small hammer and tapped lightly on the point, and sure enough, it didn't break. It gradually mushroomed into a wide flat shape. We then found that by holding the pencil vertically, that flat point can lay down some nice light gray shading. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was excited to get these Bic XTRA fun #2 pencils to try because they are my first campaign and I also thought my kids would love them. My first impression upon seeing them is that they felt so tough and durable. The erasers look great and the metal holding them in look sleek and stylish. The lead is strong too. I sat my 3 older kids down to try them out and had them draw pictures and write about their summer. They really loved the pencils too and were excited that they could pick the color they like the best. The erasers work well and don't leave a bunch or eraser dust behind and they erase the lead cleanly too, no smudges. We haven't had any broken lead points yet which is a huge plus here, we were constantly having to sharpen other pencils before these ones. I also really like that they come already sharpened and ready to use right out of the box. My husband is an elementary teacher and he's taking the second box to school with him tomorrow for his summer school students to try out. He's really impressed with them too. These are a great product, and are offered at an affordable price. Anything that gets the kids excited about back to school time, that anyone can afford, is a plus in my book. They're such a creative idea, taking boring standard #2 pencils and making them colorful and fun. Even my older kids (middle & high school) have snatched a few to put in there bags for back to school. I like that the leads are easy for the younger kids, giving them some grace and not breaking too easy when the little guys push too hard. The leads are pretty soft, which gives them the ability to not snap easily. Overall a great product. I'll be sharing with my friends and the kids new teachers this year. As I've posted before via BzzAgent, I'm absolutely IN LOVE with these pencils! The eraser's are like no other, it doesn't fall apart, crumble, disappear AND it doesn't leave an icky mess on the paper OR the eraser like other pencils do. You remember rubbing your eraser on your pants or the carpet to clean it off? Yeah, you don't have to do that:) Also the lead doesn't break like most regular #2 pencils, and if you like drawing with them like I do, these are absolutely perfect! I began drawing a picture tonight, (something I haven't done in a LONG time), sense I got my BzzKit and when shading my picture, I couldn't believe how smoothly the lead pigment was and how easy it was to distribute the "shading" of my picture. I would post the picture I am working on so you all could see, but I'm strange and sense it's not finished, I don't want to show it off yet, lol. On the other hand, my daughter has drawn SO MANY random pictures sense I got the kit in the mail, we have almost ran out of drawing paper! Everytime I see her now when she's not playing outside she's got one of these pencils in her hand! Here's something she drew tonight. A spider and a snake :) . Received the fun two-toned #2 BIC EXTRA-Fun pencils and immediately kids wanted me to open them so could pic their colors they wanted to keep. So off they went to them and I kept a couple for myself to try. I handed out the rest to my customers and friends for them to try as well. (Along with the coupons for them to buy their own.) I was happy to see how easy the pencil lead erased from paper pretty well. I was not pleased with the break resistant and found my son had broken a couple. The pencils are very soft to hold and bend to easily, felt to flimsy to use for me. The sharpening of the lead worked great and times and couple times not so great. My biggest issue was the lead was not a sharp point type writing, instead was a soft or sometime seemed blurred double writing. I have had no issues with the erasers coming off like I have with the metal ones that are easy to squish/bend. Loved knowing when erased lead off pencil it did not become a huge black smudge on the paper. Kids have not complained much about them, other than who got what color. :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
These pencils are very nicely colored, they erase well but when holding the pencil it is very flimsy, wobbly, does not stand up in our homeschool. I was very disappointed in the quality of the product and would not purchase it on my own it just doesn't stand up to the old yellow #2 pencils which last us at least 1 week at a te we didn't even make it through 1 day with these pencils. I wouldn't waste my hard earned money on these pencils, glad I was able to try them for free rather than waste my money on them! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
