I ordered this guitar not expecting very much. I wanted this for my niece who likes to sit in her room and pretend to play the guitar and hold her own personal rock concerts. When it came in, my husband tuned it up and played a few songs. I was really impressed with the sound quality and the overall look of the guitar. The guitar even comes with a strap and these cards that show how to finger and strum various chords. I won't be surprised if my niece actually learns how to play on her own. Who knows, she may even become a "rock star"!

Bought this for my ten year old son. It is nice for him to start on but the strings break easy. We have already bought two sets of strings. I'm waiting on the pick up letter for his eight year old brothers.

My daughter loves the guitar and all the stuff it comes with. She uses it all the time. The only complaint was it was smaller than she thought it was going to be.

For the most part this was a good deal. I baught it for my 6 year old granddaughter. I didn't like the fact that the strap is not adjustable, so it is useless. It was also horribly out of tune and very cheap strings.

This is an ok guitar. Purchased for a 5 year old birthday gift. Within two days one of the strings was broken. It does come with extra strings so it's not a big deal to change them. It also comes with an instructional guide to teach them to play. I would probably purchase again.

This has fairly good construction, but messy finish work - not that our child noticed, though. If his interest in the guitar persists, he will need a better instrument but this is a good value for finding out whether or not this is a phase.

Could use some quality control

My six year old daughter bought herself this guitar with her birthday money. We all agreed it would be a great inexpensive way to introduce her to the guitar, plus if it got broken we wouldn't be out a lot of money. We got it home and my husband tuned it for her which wasn't that easy to do because it is a cheap guitar. It seemed fine until I was playing it and realized that in two different areas, the first fret under the first string and the third fret under the sixth string the wood wasn't smooth. Because the wood isn't smooth you cannot play the note. In fact when you try the guitar just vibrates and sounds absolutely horrible. Also the strap isn't adjustable and is way too big for a child to use, the guitar hung down to my daughters knees and she is tall for her age. I took the guitar back to the store to exchange it for another one today and ended up leaving without one. I looked through the entire shelf stock of guitars which was about nine of them and couldn't find a single one that didn't have something wrong with it. I am very disappointed with this item. If you are looking for a toy guitar then I suppose this would be fine, if you actually want to be able to play chords and melodies then skip this one, too many imperfections(ie., scratched paint, too much glue, bumpy wood frets, loose or broken strings right out of the box). I think the manufacturer needs better quality control.

i bought this for my son. seeing it w/o opening you will know that "you get what you paid for". the strings are made of some clothesline somebody took from a neighbor's backyard. no matter how you tune it, it keeps getting out of tune. the wood is whimsical at best. when the strings get tighter, the wood base where the strings are attached will have a noticeable movement also, thus everytime you tune it, it will in time get out of tune. returned for refund. get something better even though its more expensive rather waste your money in this.
