Great Air Purifier. I bought it because Consumers recommended it. They were right. I notice how well it's helping the apartment and it's whisper quiet on setting one for sleep. Pay the extra money, it's worth it. I threw out the last one when I went cheap. The replacement filters were the same price. I love this unit. It's great!
Arrives nicely packaged and appears to be constructed very soundly. It's an attractive appliance with its geometric simplicity and the contrast the “pre-filter” sock brings. I enjoy that it has 3 fan speed options. Most importantly, I feel it is indeed purifying the air.
Well, I have never owned an air purifier before and thought they were unnecessary. I live in Northern California and this year the entire west coast of the US has had so many fires that we have all been living in extremely unhealthy to hazardous air conditions for over a month. It's still not over and we expect more bad air quality soon. This air purifier has been wonderful and comforting to have. The sound is so low on level 1 and at level 2 is soothing to hear. It becomes a kind of white noise which lulls me to sleep. We have also had extra hot weather so the cool air that comes out of the air purifier also serves as a light air conditioner for me. It cools my place noticeably. I live in a 400 sq foot apartment and bought the medium sized purifier. I am happy with it and feel better knowing I will have cleaner air to breathe when the air quality gets unhealthy outside again. I also have a pet hamster so I am glad to know he has cleaner, cooler air to breather when I am out at work since my place can get stuffy when I am out. It's smart looking, easy to turn on, to switch modes, and to move around the apartment. I am hooked and believe in air purifiers now! I recommended it to a friend and she got hers right away, and good thing because she went back to get a larger one and due to all the fires they were sold out for a while.
This filter is so effective. During normal use, it's so satisfying to change the filter out at the specified time because it gets absolutely filthy with dust. I clean regularly and have a pricey vacuum, so I was really surprised the first time I switched out the filter. Now we're really putting this thing to the test- I'm in the PNW and we've had insane wildfire smoke this last week, and I can say this filter is absolutely doing the trick. No campfire smell in my apartment like there is in the common areas of my building. And, to really test out how effective this is, I borrowed a fancy gadget from my scientist neighbor, which measures the AQI (particles in the air). While the levels outside my apartment were 150+ (that's in the hallway and lobby of my building), this filter brought the number down below 10, which is excellent. And, while this is rated for far fewer square feet, it kept the air at excellent levels throughout my 630 square foot apartment. I would love to add a second one to my apartment just from knowing how effective it is (I should add I do need to keep it on "high" currently to keep up with the smoke pollutants, so adding a second one would definitely take the load off this one, which I'd like as it can be a little noisy on the high setting). Anyway, I highly recommend this as a relatively affordable, compact, nice looking, and most importantly EFFECTIVE product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are so many reasons to get a purifier! This one is great because it's very quiet on the lowest setting and aesthetically pleasing. I love the matte white finish of the device. There's also a sleeve filter you can add on as shown in my picture. We just had a mold issue (gross!). We found out it was was partly because of moisture so after we cleaned it off, we're using this purifier to keep the mold at bay. We don't have a lot of ventilation in the kitchen so when we cook foods, the odors travel into the other rooms so I love that this device removes odors. Lastly, I live in northern california so I feel more prepared having this purifier. The last time, we accidentally left the window open while on vacation and our whole space smelled of smoke and there was no way to get rid of it since we had to keep the windows closed.
I have 2 other Honeywell air purifiers. This one works as well or better. I like it more than the others for how quiet it runs and to know I'm using.less electricity. Also love that the pre-filter is so easy to clean. As my old air purifiers wear out I will be replacing them with appropriate room size Blue Air units. My daughter has asked for the 411+ for her birthday. I can't wait to buy it for her. Thank you Blue Air!
We have been using this for over a week now, and we have noticed such a huge difference in the air quality. The air feels crisp :) The room is near the kitchen and can sometimes bring in scents from cooking, but the PURE 411+ takes care of the cooking scent as if it were never there. We love the air purifier and we are planning to get the bigger one for our living room/kitchen area
It's great! Just wish there was a long press option to turn it off rather than having to cycle through the settings. Other than that, it's perfect. Quiet, works well, and I don't wake up from smelling the California wildfire smoke in the mornings any longer. I also noticed that when I paint my nails the chemical smell goes away really quickly when the purifier is on.
The air filter seems to work really well! I gave it four stars instead of five because we primarily use it at night, and the light is so bright that we had to tape some thick paper over the lights and button to keep the light from keeping us awake. The highest setting is also a little louder than I expected, but the lowest is what we usually use and you can barely hear that it's on.
Bought two BlueAir 411+ units. Overall I am satisfied but they have drawbacks. First as many other reviewers have noted these units omit a subtle chemical or burning smell. My wife does not notice it but I do. In other reviews people speculate it is glue on the filters or volatiles from plastic parts and most say it went away in weeks to months. After 1 month I still smell it but it has faded. In other reviews BlueAir sent replacement filters to deal with the smell which sometimes worked and sometimes did not. I hope BlueAir is researching this since it is absolutely not what you don't want in an air purifier. I never had an air purifier and did not know what to expect for the noise level. The unit has 3 speeds. At lowest it is nearly inaudible, the sound of a quiet computer fan. At medium speed it is much louder than my central air heating, louder than a running refrigerator, louder than the loudest computer cooling fan running full out. High speed noise reminds me of 1970s airconditioning units in Los Angeles growing up, loud. High speed is maybe about as loud as a vacuum cleaner run at low speed, or maybe the sound of the shower running when in the bathroom. The sound at all speeds is an ok pitch, not whining. Unfortunately at anything other than lowest speed it is the loudest thing in my house, so I have mostly run it at lowest speed where the air volume is so low that it is probably not very effective. I'd estimate the air flow is at least 5-10 times less than the high speed that the air cleaning specifications are given for.
