My husband wanted this bread. If you like molasses you will love it. He is happy with it toasted and puts orange marmalade on it. If you live in an area where storms cause power outages, it is a good product to keep in your pantry because it has a long shelf life.
It is the consistency of more like a muffin than bread. I Warm it and enjoy it anytime. Absolutely delicious! Have enjoyed it for multiple decades.
I have always loved this bread as a bit of a treat! It is really good with a dab of cream cheese! Too bad Wal-Mart here doesn't sell it. It would be very handy for when we have hurricanes or other inclement weather as it is in the can! Bread is the staff of life after all!

Heard about this bread and finally FOUND it here in Walmart. Toasted and slathered with butter is the best breakfast biscuit EVER.
I have been looking for this product for years. It was one of my Mother's special treats when we were kids. Mom kept it hid from us because she knew she would have to share with 5 kids and there would not be any left for her. She only brought it out when we were not home. She would spread cream cheese on it and set back with a cup of coffee and relax after she got off work. That was back in the 50's. I was teenager. My baby Sister finally told me about Mom's special treats. I think I surprised her one day after I married, when I caught her having her treat. She didn't make a big deal out of it and I didn't realize how special it was until years later when my Sister explained it to me. It tastes like I remembered back then. My kids don't even know about it yet.
