[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Adding the Bose Surround Speakers to the Bose Soundbar 700 is an incredible addition. To see someone jump because of the sound that came from behind us or appeared to be next to us while we we're watching a movie is hilarious and I have to admit I've jumped a few times also. After setting up the Bose Soundbar 700 we were amazed at the room filling sound from just the soundbar however setting up the Bose Surround Speakers, and running the ADAPTIQ once again, added amazing surround sound to music and videos. People have commented on how shocked they are with the sound from “those little speakers” that they didn't even notice prior to hearing the surround effects and us showing them the speakers. Any wireless surround sound speakers that we've used have an additional component that you have to plug into an electrical outlet and has wiring that will go from that component to your wireless speaker. View the Bose Wireless Surround Speakers on the Bose internet site and you'll see a picture displaying placement and setup. The surround speakers are heavy and built to last and look great if you know where to look. We haven't had a visitor that noticed the surround speaker until they heard the surround sound and we showed them the speakers. With the Bose Music App you can make adjustments to the sound that will fit your listening area and make your system come alive. Using the Bose Music Apps took literally seconds to set up the Bose Surround Speakers, super easy to set up. We are Bose fans and have a fair bit of Bose equipment, but we're Bose fans because of the incredible sound that we experienced for years. We owned a Life Style System for nearly 20 years and we finally replaced it with a Bose 130 system with a wireless subwoofer and we've had/have awesome sound with those systems but the Bose Soundbar 700 along with the Bose Surround Speakers have really surprised us. We would highly recommend adding the Bose Surround Speakers to your system, we can't say enough about the surprising sound they've added.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spent some time listening to these speakers today. First of all ease of use and connectivity was super easy and was quickly done (using sound touch 300 sound bar) I have not done adaptig yet and I am already impressed with the speakers sound and performance. Once I complete the setup and mount them on the wall I will be more excited to hear what it would sound like.
We hooked them up to the soundbar 600 immediately. The Bose app took a minute to acknowledge the speakers with the system. I also got the wall/ceiling mount for the speakers. The connection for the connected power supply is on the bottom of the speaker and the hole cut out is on the top of the mount. It took quite a long time to figure out the mounting since all the pictures included (no real instructions) did not look like our speakers. These speakers are VERY dependent on the streaming service applications beings used as to the quality of sound. The first hour, we weren't sure if they worked at all. When we got everything connected and mounted, the sound really adds to the system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] QUICK TAKE The Bose Surround speakers are add-on products to select Bose Soundbars. They add a new dimension to the sound experience especially when the movie or TV show has a dedicated surround soundtrack. However, you might get subtle unexpected audio during programming that is not optimized for surround. And the Bose Surround speakers are small, attractive, and mighty. DESCRIPTION The surround speakers are small and can blend easily in any room. They produce impressive sound which continues Bose reputation for impressive audio reproduction from tiny devices. Build quality is very nice. Hefty, but not heavy. And the bottom has a non-slip foot to keep each speaker in place while eliminating vibration. The surround speakers are wireless from the soundbar to the surround receivers. From those receivers to the actual speakers, they are wired. And each receiver requires its own power source. And each receiver has a switch to make it either right or left surround position. SETUP & BOSE MUSIC APP The setup process started off a bit frustrating. The instructions referred me to the smartphone app. The smartphone app found the speakers but then offered no setup guidance. I figured it out after just a few minutes, but I was disappointed. To summarize proper setup: Place the speakers where you want them, place the wireless receivers where you want them, cut the speaker wire to your preferred length from the receivers to the speakers, attach the wires to the speaker adapters, and plug the adapters into the speakers (you need a small screwdriver to connect the wires to the adapters). All of this might sound obvious, but cautious DIYers are not fans of ambiguity. Use the Bose Music app to connect the surround speakers to the soundbar. The process was automatic and went smoothly. The ADAPTIQ audio calibration detects and configures the satellite speakers for optimal performance. PERFORMANCE The sound reproduction is really impressive for such small speakers. During movies and sports, they added a fun, new dimension to the audio experience. For some programs, I noticed some irregular use of the rear channels. Voice tracks during a few programs would be present in the surrounds on and off during the same dialog scenes. This is not Bose's fault, nor was it actually all that distracting. It was just something I noticed. The Bose Music app allows you to adjust the volume of the rear channels so you can achieve your best surround experience. Or you can simply turn them off in the app. CONCLUSION They might not be perfect, but the Bose Surround speakers are wonderful additions for a Bose soundbar. They put you right in the middle of the action while the speakers themselves practically disappear in your room's background. If you're looking for a simple solution to a surround sound experience, then be sure to consider these.
The speakers are smaller than I expected but the sound from them is everything I expect from Bose and combined with a Bose sound bar and bass module really makes a difference in the enjoyment of movies AND music. The speakers, as I say, are smaller than I expected but the components for wirelessly receiving the sound are much BIGGER than I expected. When Bose advertisements suggest that the surround sound speakers are unobtrusive, they are talking ONLY about the speakers and not the rest of the system to connect them. So, be aware that you will have to find a way to conceal all of the connection equipment that are 10 times the size of the speakers themselves.
Setting up with wireless connection to those speakers is pretty neat. It would be great if you could also make a transmitter so as they could be added to any legacy home theater systems.
First of all, the speakers are VERY SMALL. Did not like the size. I thought they were approximately 6” tall. Not the case Set up was a nightmare. I have had other surround systems which I was able to set up within 20 minutes. I tried to set up these speakers by myself; 2 hours later I was still trying. I called customer support; another hour or so more and there was still no sound coming from the speakers even though I was doing everything the rep was telling me. In the end the rep suggested a return for exchange or refund. I went for the refund.
Normally, I LOVE Bose products. However I will be sending back my Bose Surround Speakers. They added nothing to my experience. They were barely audible, even when turned up to the max.
Let's start with the instructions. If you have a soundbar 500 or 700 it states to use method 1. For method1, just use the app, that's it, but oh know, you still need to do the hook up in method 2. By virtually invisible, what they really mean is you need to hook up a speaker wire, then hook that to a wireless port (which is bigger than the speakers), and finally plug that in to an outlet! Looks like these things are going back.
