We really like the way this hood looks. The fan is much quieter than our old over the oven microwave fan. It looks great too. Love all the features, like the different lighting functions. But the best part is the halogen lights. I've never had this much light while cooking, it really makes a big difference.
It so well designed, sleek and smooth edges. Unlike some fans this blends right in and is almost undetectable. The suction is so great I can fry with ease knowing the odors are set outside. I recommend this fan to anyone wishing to have great clen effects. It is opperated with ease, do not need any detailed instructions. Wonderful fan....
Not only do we love the vent hood it isn't easy to clean and it even has automatic sensors that turn the fan up when you're cooking at higher temps absolutely the best oven hood I've ever owned!
There are a lot of things that I don't know which I like the best. The filters are easily removed for cleaning and lights that come on automatically at night Those are the top of my list. When the fan comes on it does not blow you out of the kitchen and drown out the sounds of the radio or tv
Looks good, has a quiet fan that vents odors out well (we vented it outdoors). It also has great lighting and works perfectly. Love the automated night light. Cleaning is easy.
During our kitchen re-model my wife selected this exhaust hood. Easy to install, stainless steel perfectly matched the rest of our SS appliances. Exhaust fans work great and are not that noisy...can still hear TV while they are running. Love the way the work lights dim to on and off, very cool. Was a little confusing at first learning all the features but after living with unit now for several months it is becoming 2nd nature. Would highly recommend this unit to anyone. A little expensive...but remember you get what you pay for and this unit is worth every dollar spent.
Range hood demo in the store was very quiet. Our unit has a vibration sound in the low speed, but still acceptable. The ambient light setting is a little too cute for me, if is turned on I need to get the instructions out just to turn it off. I would use the ambient light all the time if the lights were LED.
Being a in a wheelchair, I wanted controls that I could reach, but I needed a NON-DUCTED fan. Broan was the only manufacturer that offered this unique combination. I almost didn't buy this range hood because of all of the terrible reviews about the HEAT SENTRY and how it turns on when you don't want it to and then not being able to turn that feature off. I've had hood in for a few months now and I never had any HEAT SENTRY issues. Never the less, I wish there was way to disable the HEAT SENTRY feature. The lighting features on this hood are the best and one things that I like the most. The four well placed halogen bulbs are bright and provide nice even lighting with out any shadows. I love the ambient light settings that turn the hood lights on dim when the room is dark. The theater style lighting transitions are also a nice touch. A small suction cup tool (included) is necessary to change the bulbs. It would be nice if there was a built in place to store this tool as I can anticipate not being able to locate it when needed. At he low setting the fan noise is certainly noticeable, but not a problem. The single fan is offset to the left side, so that side is more effective. With fan speed set on high you need to talk loudly or leave the kitchen to have a conversation. The optional charcoal filters (BPPF30) easy to replace and they are effective at clearing smoke and odors. The NON-DUCTED Installation was simple, although it would have been easier if a TEMPLATE would have been included. After I finished mounting the hood, I initially thought that I had installed it incorrectly because the bottom of the hood wasn't level. Well it turns out that there's a 3/8" difference front-to-back which I find somewhat aesthetically unpleasing. Perhaps I notice it more because I'm in a wheelchair and always looking up at it. Being able to turn off the display of the clock is another nice touch, My kitchen already has enough clocks and keeping them all in sync can be a pain. The optional remote control (BCR1) is the feature that I like the most and the primary reason that I purchased this unit. It's especially convenient for someone like me who uses a wheelchair to get around. I'm able to reach the front control while seated, but the remote makes it that much easier. All in all, I'm delighted with this range hood.
this is a good unit but the auto fan heat sensor is a bad thing , i have a eat in kitchen and with no control over the fan with high temps it gets loud and can,t hear some others in the room .i should be able to turn off and on when i want to operate the fan .other that i like it
After installing my stainless steel exhaust fan, I was rather dismayed by the user interface. 1) Unit stays on after you turn it off. A product feature that no one likes. Having this a default setting is OK, but it would be nice to op-out of this feature 2) Buttons are very small and difficult to press for correct function. 3) Button #1(low setting) for light can be pressed and unit goes into night light mode. IT cannot be canceled unless you go thru entire menu sequence. A huge annoyance when cooking and moving fast with things in your hands. Over all, it is a handsome unit, but user interface needs serious work and prevents a higher recommendation or referral from me.
