Actually, exceeded the expectations that I had based on my research and the fact that I worked in the Retail Computer Industry for over 14 years. The BIG problem is no replacement ink cartridges, LC-51 Series, at the Mililani Walmart that I bought the Brother MFC 240 from. I am going to have to choose the expensive options, go online, or the competitors for ink supplies. If I would have known this then I would NOT have bought this item. Replacement Ink cartridges cost more that the Brother MFC 240. About averaging $90 for a set, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow. Number of prints or copies achieved (I kept a record), 37, full page low density, low saturation, non photo, color copies. At the time of purchase the Mililani Walmart had the LC-51 replacement ink cartridges in stock, I checked this knowing how fast Ink Jet Printers use ink. I should have and would recommend an HP instead, since the replacement ink cartridges are readily available. Eventhough this is a great product; however, useless without the replacement ink cartridges..
I bought this little machine to replace my 1995 laser brother fax machine. I originally looked at the HP multifunction but steered away from it due to bad reviews on this site. Thank god I did! This little machine is a power house, and does it all with gusto. Printing and copying is very quick, and the scanning is superb! The fax is very quick with more than adequate memory for holding multiple documents in memory. When comparing value for your dollar, you cannot go wrong with this machine!!
This has to be the best printer I have ever seen. I have bought this printer for 3 members of my family and we all love it. It makes it easier to send and receive paperwork and the machine is actually quiet. If anyone needs a multi functional printer with less hassle this is the printer you want.
This has got to be the best all in one printer I have ever bought! I have previously purchased the HP model, twice, and they both broke down within 2 months. I am a college student so I do print a lot, however the HP model kept stalling. After getting frustrated I finally turned to this machine knowing they have a name in great sewing machines. I have had this printer almost 3 months and it is money well spent. Printing is fast, and if you need to fax it is very simple to understand the steps. Nice quality, and very clear buttons. Recommend to all!
Although I've not used the Fax or Photo upload features yet, I'm confident they will perform as well as the print and copy do. I am using this as a supplemental printer for the bulk copying/scanning feature as I have an HP Photo printer that I can upload from or print with but this is not to take away from the Brother. There were several areas that prompted me to purchase the Brother 240CE and they were: 1) 10 sheet feed for copying/scanning; 2) the four individual ink tanks and 3) value for the price.
This machine is great I have owned a Brother MFC210 and this one is just as great Brother makes terrific printers I just bought my 240C on Feb 13, 2008 Works great with my Windows Vista Home Premium
Several years ago I used the Brother printer and never had any problems with it, I am now back to the Brother and I just love it. The print quality is fantastic and Wal-Mart's price beat out another store, also the ink cartridges can be purchased at the office supply store. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
After reading some of the reviews, I was afraid to switch from my Cannon pixma to this Brother printer. But, I needed a multifuntional printer that included a fax. And I'm so glad I did the switch. My Cannon was too loud and I couldn't print while my 2yr old was sleeping. My Cannon did not have a paper tray that slides in so I really love that this Brother printer has a paper tray. This printer is easy to set up and it's easy to use. And it's affordable. I'm very satisfied!
On this model, can't coordinate fax pickup with voicemail, so have to know prior notification of reception of fax.
I bought this printer after christmas.....first of all it takes 4 cartridges, which run out fast. Secondly the paper gets jammed often. And the absolute worst thing is I bought new cartridges for the printer, even though the yellow was new it kept saying it was almost empty, I tried multiple times to reinstall the cartridge to no avail. After two printings the printer kept saying the yellow cartridge was empty when it was brand new! Now the printer wont print at all saying there was no cartridge in the printer when there was so now it doesnt work at all. I would NOT buy this printer again!! Sadly I bought this printer when it was $100!!!!
