Same exact type of soil when I first started growing my Bonsai trees. My plants are healthy and growing nicely thanks to this soil.
For the price, I was impressed with the soil, I agree no soil impaction. Long-term results will tell how good it is. I am not an avid waterer, so I had added additional composted Pinebark to the mix for moisture retention. Really can't beat the price with shipping.
I was expecting a much smaller bag and am doubly happy. It is good soil I think and a healthy medium for my trees.
As expected the Bonsai soil from Brussels is always fresh and ready to use

Very complete Bonsai soil mix. Drains well and supports all Bonsai tree varieties.
First time using this. So far okay. Wish it came with how to use information.
No worms, no air pockets and I sure it won't matted up for 8 Bougainvillea that I repotted. I'm sure it be easier to remove these tender roots from this soil then any other I used in the past. Yet it will take another 6 months for the plants to shows it approval or disapproval and its watering requirements in the summer before I make my decision to buy more for my other 65 bonsai. I have high hopes that after years of using about 8 different replacement soil that this is going to be one that satisfy me as much as the first one I used.
This product says the cost is $2.33/lb however the product I received was nowhere near 10lbs. Walmart charged me over $23 for this product however the receipt in the packaging indicates the cost should be $7. This is much closer to the $2.33/lb unit price quoted by Walmart.com. Walmart.com assured me that someone would be contacting me to settle my dispute and that I would be provided a $10 gift certificate for my trouble. That was a week ago and I have heard nothing and received nothing. I'd only buy from Walmart.com again if I was totally desperate and Amazon was charging an exorbitant price, which they sometimes do. Purchase at your own risk!
