This is a great quality desk for the price. It took a bit of time to put it together, but it was well worth the savings. The desk top was slighlty damaged in the box. However, when I contacted the manufacturer, they immediately shipped me a replacement desk top. I also purchased the matching file cabinet and hutch. It really is a great looking set.
Great desk and great price
Very pleased with product. Bought 2 of these and built them fairly quickly over 4 day span. Took a little extra time with the first one following all the directions (which were very easy to understand) over a couple hours in the first three days. Second one was built in about 3.5 hours on day 4. Much easier to assemble the second time around knowing what I had learned from the first build. A couple recommendations to make this project an easier go: have an assistant work with you, it will make the build easier when it's time to gather parts to assemble and then putting it all together. Second, have a large flat surface like a counter or small desk to work from rather than building directly on the floor. Finally, though it is easier, using power tools, i.e. cordless screwdriver is not the best option. Use a little muscle to put all the screws in place. You'll be very pleased with the final results and it won't take much longer. Using the cordless screwdriver can torque the screws too much and strip out the holes, which will lead to frustration and disappointment when it doesn't all fit together properly.
Desk comes in many many pieces, well boxed and securely padded. Read the instructions several times before attempting to assemble and then be ready to do a lot of screwing. Take your time and it goes together well. Looks great. You might want to have a small drill handy since a lot of the small holes on the drawers are not deep enought for the drawer rail screws and you can not force them in composite board.
As others have written, it was a daunting task having to deal with so many screws and hardware. Despite the blisters from using a manual screwdriver, the end result was beyond my expectations. This is a beautiful piece of furniture. It took me a full day, but when the last drawer went in with ease, I stood back and smiled. It makes the room and I LOVE it!
Some folks are terrified of furniture that has to be assembled. However, by taking this project slow and easy, I had it up and looking gorgeous in a couple of hours. The site-to-store- shipping was great, and this desk was packaged so well that it survived another 30 miles sticking out of my trunk! All exterior pieces have a nice thick laminate that resists chipping, scratching, staining and warping. This desk looks like $1,000 desk, but wow! What a price! You cannot possibly go wrong.
This product quality was pretty good. It did have quite a few chips in the wood. Overall I was satisfied with this desk.
Purchased for the office. Customer should have an option for having the product assembled prior to delivery. Cannot comment on durability at this time. Overall merchandise looks pretty expensive when put together.
I put it together over 2 evenings, by myself. The directions say you need assistance but that is up to you. The only part of it that was difficult is the sore hand from turning all the screws. Take your time and it's easy enough. And it seems very sturdy so far.
We bought the executive desk, the file cabinet, and the bookcase. I must say, I was very disappointed. I will try to break it down quickly. When we received these products through shipping, the two main side pieces and a corner piece of the bookshelf were broken, and the top piece of the file cabinet was smashed at the corner. Had to call and wait for replacement pieces. Once desk was assembled, for some reason the keyboard drawer fell down as we were moving the desk into position in our office. When it fell, from less than 3 feet onto carpet, the keyboard drawer broke. None of the pieces have a great fit and finish because things just don't line up correctly and so things like drawers can look a bit uneven or slightly off. The veneer on the fake wood is almost paper thin so it is prone to scratches. Also, the finish reveals all sorts of hand smudges and such, so it is really difficult to keep clean. I could go on and on about how these products are cheap junk, but what's the point. Anyway, if you decide to purchase this I wish you better luck.
