I ordered this desk in July. After assembled it, I found I have to force the central draw in and out, and the bottom slipped out of its slot, and bent downward. I contacted Bush costomer service. The service agent is so experienced that after asking me a few questions, she identified what I did wrong. She gave me instructions to do the right, and mailed me replacement parts for free. After I reassembled the central draw and its rails according to instructions, the draw moves smoothly, and the bottom stays in its place. I'm so happy with this desk and your service.
For My Computer And Drawers for Storage of Documents and books .The Desk Is Great Looking And Is Very Sturdy.When I Received The Desk There Was A Brooken Part On The Desk.I Contacted Bush And Withen A Few Days They Replaced the Part Free Of Charge.I Had No Problems At All.I Am Very Satisfied . Although it took 4 hours to assemble, all the pieces were there & my 16 yr old grandson understood the directions. This is a beautiful piece of furniture. It is in my living room and does not look out of place at all. I can work at the desk & be in the same room as my hubby as he watches "the game"!
I shopped around for the best price on this desk and this was it. [...] The directions left a little to be desired and taking my time paid off, paying close attention to which screws went where. I could not be happier as I type this review from my new beautiful desk!
I do not have a home office and mainly had one of the $149 L-Shaped computer desks I used. I purchased a new computer system and went with a 3 monitor array So I wanted something nice to put it on. I looked around at [...] and could not find anything nice. I saw a Bush executive desk in a catalog and did some research on the web. I was already buying 2 other computer workstations from Cymax for my sons and saw this desk and really liked it so I order it. I could not be any happier. Assembly was not as bad as people say it is. They recommend not to use a drill and to put every screw in by hand but if you use a drill you can do just fine if you pull the trigger slowly. I built the desk in about 1.5 hours and then the next day I did all the drawers and they took another 1.5-2 hours. So assembly was about 3-4 hours but the finished product looks great.
The desk took about 4 hours to assemble, which I had expected after reading the comments from other purchasers. When it was complete, I knew I had made the right choice. I've received many, many compliments about how attractive the desk is. Over all, the desk has exceeded my expectations. Its a great desk at a very reasonable price...
I purchased this desk to replace the old desk in my Home Office. The desk arrived in one box and it took 2 guys to unload it into my house (Weight was about 191 lbs). Putting the deak together was a major task. It took my wife and I about 6 hours to accomplish the assembly. The instructions could have more language guidance to accompay the assembly drawings. Great desk, nice piece to display. Like that it has 3 drawers to put files in if you need. Only cons are it is hard to move to a different room, once you have it somewhere, you will probably leave it there as it is quite heavy. Also, it shows fingerprints real easy and has some nicks in it from manufacturing. All in all....glad I made the purchase!
It wasn't easy to assemble and it takes all of 4 hours. It is nice looking and sturdy with the exception of the drawers. I think they could make them differently so they aren't so flimsy. Also the middle drawer sticks. But, for the price I paid I can't complain too much. Also, if you're like me and like to spread things out and still be able to use a desktop PC or laptop,this desk top space is great for that purpose.
For years I've been using a cheap L shaped glass desk that cost me about 130 dollars. The thing with L desks is that the good ones tend to get very expensive, and I really wanted something with drawers, so I compromised and got a standard desk which I was hoping for something nicer and with drawers, minus the L part. This desk certainly gives me enough space, and the drawers are nice. One of the biggest reasons I chose this one is due to the locking drawers on the left side. My biggest problems are that a lot of the desk is made of cheap pressed wood. Better than I've seen used in other many other products, but for 430 dollars, it would be nice to see some regular wood involved here. The material is more of a slight annoyance; the biggest issue is the integrity of the pieces. There are plastic hinges that hold a lot together on the base. These don't make me feel like the desk is stable in its foundation. I'm actually quite concerned that if I ever needed to move it, it would break into pieces. No one could put this together and expect anything more as far as that goes. It's the parts they give you to assemble it, as well as the cheapness of some of the wood. I've had about 5 screws strip really easy. One I was trying to tighten down to the base to have it to strip to turn one way or another. It was preventing a drawer from closing, so I ended up having to pull it out. A lot of the screws seem to be cheap like this; made of cheap metal that's easy to strip. I saw another desk for like 250 that I kind of wish I had gotten instead. I choose this one due to one of the reviews pointing out concerns about its stability. I have the same problem with this one. It's a fair desk, but it certainly is not worth $430 in my belief. I would go with something somewhat cheaper, or save up and get something of higher quality that you know you will be happy with.
