I bought this bookcase because I had an odd sized area that I needed to fill with shelves, this was not the usual size I had been finding as far as width but it still had a good depth and height. It was as easy to assemble as any cam lock furniture there is but it was a little more time consuming because it has alot of hardware (screws) to attach the finishing trim, which is a good thing because it makes it that much nicer looking and stronger. The backing was thick and firm and it had indents to locate the nails so there was no guessing where they went or where the wood panels were, also, the nails were not the usual brads with small heads on them, they were ringed like an aluminum nail so they won't pull out and they had a nice big head on them to grip the back panel. For the price I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed one.
My husband and I bought this bookcase, the desk, hutch and matching dresser and we absolutely love it. It took us 2 days to put it together but it is so well made, heavy, good quality and it appears to be very high end furniture. It has so much storage and and many uses. We would reccommend it to people anyday!
I am very happy with the purchase, I like the bookcase so well I plan on ordering another one! The reason for me purchasing this bookcase was for the dimensions, I needed a bookcase to fit on a very small wall. This was the only one I could find that would fit, although it's small, it's also tall! It has five shelves, were other bookcases only had four. The price was a little high but it is an upgrade from normal partical border bookcases. It also came with a wall anchor to attach bookcase to the wall, which was great considering I have two small children. I plan on purchasing another bookcase soon, I like that is has enough storage but doesn't take up a bunch of room.
The bookcase was everything we thought it would be, great addition to the office. Easy to put together and looks great! Lots of compliments from everyone who see it. Great buy and will last a long time.
This product was packaged very well for shipping. This is a very simple bookshelf to put together. The fit and finsish of this unit is simple and clean. The only feature missing from this piece is if you wanted a lighted shelf. The shelves are adjustable and easy to configuire.
I purchased this bookcase for my teenage son so that he would have more room to store all the books that he loves to read. When we got it, he insisted on putting it together all by himself. He did an great job, the instructions were very clear for him to understand. He actually enjoyed the project. The book case is a wonderful addition to his bedroom and I would recommend it to anyone.
The style, color and size were what I was looking for. I thought the description was misleading in that it did not specify particle board wrapped in wood print paper. One piece was broken in shipment and was immediately replaced when I contacted them.
I bought this for use in a sewing room, and for that purpose it fits the bill. Obviously it's an inexpensive bookcase but that was what I was looking for. Once books are loaded into it, you can't tell how expensive it might have been. I think the top molding adds a more "expensive look" than other similarly priced cases. I recommend it.
It came from Site to Store to save me $$ on shipping, which was a great feature! But when I got it home, it was damamged! One corner of the pressboard (not real wood) with the wood laminate was shredded. THere is no way to hide it!! Was not impressed. Of course, didn't notice till it was all put together, and box was cut down for recycling. So not able to take back. Darn it! Be warned, THIS IS NOT REAL WOOD AND IS CHEAP!! Plus, the end pieces don't fit together. Wouldn't recommend. Did like the fact that you can move some of the shelves.
EVER. Not ANY of this collection. I bought the whole set, over $800 worth. This shelf unit leans to the side and I have taken it apart and started again thinking it was something I did and it isn't. Even with the L wall bracket they provided (for earthquake support lol...yeah right) doesn't give it much support. It helps a little, but it's still wobbly. VERY wobbly. I can't put my products on it that I planned to because it's so unstable. Also, the back to the unit comes FOLDED! So you have two creases all the way down the inside of your shelf (made to look like real wood... with creases...??) So I left it off and it looks better. My point is I shouldn't HAVE to. It should be packages properly. NOT happy with my purchases and I would NOT recommend this to my worst enemy. And for the record I have had many great purchases from this site, so in general I am a happy wal-mart shopper. Just not this time.
