This brush is great for shaping curls. I have been so impressed with the way it works as a dupe to the denman! I have seen major improvements in my curl pattern using this brush! This brush is wonderful for helping shape curls but it's not a detangler as it states.
My initial thought for this brush was that it was going to be very rough on my daughter's hair. HOWEVER, it has been amazing! Previously we were using an EZ flex brush that did a great job but was flimsy. This Cantu detangling brush holds its shape and gives a consistent brush through. I am extremely pleased and her curls come out bouncy and full of life. I'd say this is very comparable to a Denman Brush for half the price!

With me & my daughter having messy curly hair I am always looking for something that will detangle without pulling out chunks of hair with it. Although this brush does a very good job at detangling, the tips are so pointy it hurts to run it close to your scalp. My daughter won't even let me use it on her a 2nd time.
I have thicker hair that's curly. The first minute I loved it but about a minute into brushing the brush came off the handle. It looked like glue didn't hold very well. I was able to put back together, but just kept sliding out everytime I tried to brush. Maybe better with someone with thinner hair ,but couldn't handle mine
My hair is wavy. This brush detangles well but the rows break, it is very simple. It does not have good quality.
I wanted to love this brush. I swear I did. I have thick, wavy hair that normally I just toss into a bun all day and rock on (you moms know what I mean). Between my lack of time for self care because I'm too busy tending to the kids and my incredibly thick hair, the need for a detailer brush is STRONG.... But this brush is not what I was looking for. It wasade incredibly cheaply. The moment I took it out of its box, the head piece that is the bristles are off! The glue that held it to the brush was nothing more than 2 dots of glue! I had to super glue it back together before I even got to try it. Once that was fixed I finally got to try this brush. It worked ok for the knots but oh my gosh does this thing remind you of your mom doing your hair as a kid. It's bristles were so sharp I thought it was ripping my scalp open. The glue kept breaking apart, leaving the bristles stuck part way in my hair. I just not impressed....
I have a combination of curly and wavy hair. This brush snagged on every single knot, pulling hairs out along the way. The bristles are quite stiff and close together. The handle is comfortable in my hand and easy to grip. It seems to be made of good quality materials. The bristles and the orange part they are attached to don't move.
First use, the removable piece gets pulled out of the brush with EVERY SINGLE stroke. My daughter has type 3 hair, and it's long, so brushing it is extremely time consuming and needs a sturdier brush (which Walmart sells, and quality is much better).
I received it with bent bristles. I have used it 2 times and the 2nd time I used it, 6 six new bristles bent and broke. My hair is not that thick and curly for this to happen.
