I bought the bundle that included the slide out desk, cabinet and 3 drawer dresser. All were fairly easy for me to assemble alone at 34 weeks pregnant. They look great, function well and my girls love that there is a "hide-out" under their new beds. The only comment I can come up with is the odor from the stain I assume is very very strong even a few weeks after putting these up.
I bought this for my cabin up north. The entire cabin is done in cedar tongue and groove and thought this would go good with it. I would strongly advise you to purchase some wood glue before assembling this chest. The instructions were adequate. I messed up on the top board as I had it flipped 180 degrees the wrong way. By doing this, the front edge doesn't have the finished look. It looks like it was cut with a rough saw. I can't hold this against the manufacturer since it was my mistake. Just pay attention when you assemble yours. Also, two of the bottom boards "B" and "C" had the labels flip flopped. Again this goes with the finished look. I ended up having to varnish the mislabeled board to make it match the rest of the chest. (it's the board directly under the bottom drawer). After reading some of the reviews I expected the dowels to be loose fitting and they were. I glued all the dowels in place to resolve this issue. I will also advise you to not over tighten the cam locks. They can easily strip out so just turn them til they are snug. Also, the bottom of the drawers are made with a fiberous type material. These weren't deep enough for any of the drawers. The could slip out of the manufactured slots in the front or the back. I slid each board so it was divided equally in the front and back slots (just have to go by feel) and glued them in place. I haven't had any issues since. I would put the quality at an average rating. Overall the chest looks really nice when finished. The drawers roll in and out very smooth. My biggest complaint is it scratches really easy. I had to touch up several scratches just from assembly. I'm putting a dresser scarf on top of it to help protect the top.
The product is actually pretty good, but I was disappointed about the difficulty I had putting it together and also about the drawers. The drawers are a constant problem for me - the boards are constantly coming a part. I blame it on the pieces the manufacturer uses to piece them together. I don't know what those pieces are called but they don't stay closed. Also, the drawers didn't seem to fit properly. Ultimately they did....but it took a lot of work. But the drawers are spacious and holds all his clothes that he wears now and holds his bigger size clothes that he'll wear soon.
We wanted something made of wood, this was perfect, not top shelf, priced right, meets our needs and blends in with kids kraft toy box and farm ta me perfectly.
Impressed with the all-wood build & general appearance. I bought this thinking, "the highest quality of the cheap stuff"-- (all-wood insides & metal tracks.) My only disappointment is with the brackets/tracks that the drawers roll on to pull out. I get excited if I am able to pull out a drawer without it falling off the tracks. Falling out of line & into the drawer below it is the norm.
I like the look of this chest, and was overall happy with the set it came with, but the workmanship on this piece was a bit shoddy. 1. Attaching the back of each drawer to the sides was imprecise, because there was only 1 dowel (in the center) and predrilled holes in only 1 of the two pieces for each join, meaning it was hard to get exact alignment. 2. The wood was kind of flimsy, and prone to splitting. I had to be very careful to avoid breaking any of the drawer pieces. 3. One of the pieces had no predrilled holes at all, and I had to measure and get out my drill set before I could finish assembly. I don't dislike the final product, but it was more of a hassle to assemble than it should have been, and I'll probably end up replacing it as soon as I get another piece in the same size.
I bought this originally a month ago, but was unable to use it because two of the pieces came damaged. I had to wait almost two additional weeks for replacement parts to arrive. Now that it's together it has been a decent product. The manufacturing could be more precise so the pieces line up more evenly.
The only reason I bought this was that I was trying to match a similar dresser I bough from IKEA several years ago. On the plus side, Walmart offers 2 day shipping on furniture, which is much better than you are likely to find at most furniture shops. Also, the packaging was filled with Styrofoam, which makes a big mess. Easy to put together. All of the parts showed up. That being said, this is just an average particle board dresser that will likely break in a couple of years with normal wear and tear.
I bought this for product for my baby's room. It was at a more reasonable price. However After we received it and put it together there is a huge gap between the bottom and the last drawer. No matter how tried to rearrange the drawers it was still there. The drawers were preset. Somebody obviously did not measure correctly. This product I guess is worth the money of going the cheap route but that only depends on how you look at it.
Ordered to go with coordinating loft bed, but this and bookshelf are terrible! The wood is cheap (my hubby couldn't believe what I paid for this piece of junk and we have plenty of assembly style furniture), and when my hubby went to put together, the piece meant for the back was not even long enough!! I took it back immediately for a refund--the junior loft bed is great but don't waste your money on this!
