Good speed and operation thanks to highly recommended electrical system.

It's a lot quieter too compared the previous electric sharpener we own which is a huge plus. I've tried using simple sharpeners to keep them going, but it wasn't enough. I saw this electric sharpener and I decided to give it a try. I am so impressed! This took the old, battered edge of my knife and made it better than new! I was so impressed with how clean the edge looks now. The knives cut so much better than before. I was a little worries that it would be complicated to use, but the instructions were incredibly clear. I followed them, step by step, and the knife came out perfectly. I am very glad that I have this electric sharpener now. I strongly recommend it to anybody looking to bring new life to their blades.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I was nervous about this knife sharpener since I have a mixture of European and Japanese cutlary. I knew that there were big differents in the two, but wasn't sure. Surprisingly the booklet that came with it spelled it out pretty clearly. Only use the left side of each phase for Japanese style knives, and both for a European style knife. Still not wanting to start off with my most expensive knife, I picked an older European style chefs knife we had written off as useless. Went through all three phases a couple of times to get used to it, and it breathed new life into the blade. Then I got the courage to run the Japenese blade through and it was the same. It cut like it was brand new again. If you've got knives, I'd say pick one of these up unless you just love measuring blade angle and hand sharpening a blade.

This little machine completely changed my life! I don't remember my knives ever been to Sharp and cooking is much more enjoyable now that my knives slice like they're supposed to! My son Erik told me about his Trizor XV, and how sharp it made knifes. My son forges knives and knows volumes more than I about steel and knives. Having a set of knives for over 20 years that I thought were past keeping, I decided to order it. Wow, I love it, my wife loves it and now our knives are sharper than when they were new. I seldom use the buffer, as I prefer a bit of a burr to dig into a tomato skin easier. I use a fork tongued bread knife to cut through sod in uncovering grave markers that get buried over time at the local cemetery. The edge cuts like butter through 10 reclamations, that's sharp through a lot of abuse.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never had a knife sharpener and I am amazed! I don't have the fanciest knives so you can imagine what it's like cutting into tomatoes. This sharpener is really good. Runs so smoothly, easy to use, and makes tomatoes cutting so nice and clean. It also doesn't take up a lot of counter space. I didn't know I needed this product. Now I'm about to buy another for my dad because he loves to spend time in the kitchen. At the moment he uses one of those metal sticks to sharpen his knives, and I know he will love the ease of this.

Originally my husband sharpens our kitchen knives manually but we were both impressed with how well this works and how easy it is. Now I am able to easily sharpen knives without his help. One thing with this sharpener is that it will not perform miracles on crappy quality knives. They will still not be great. The knives that are of better quality, sharpened like brand new or even sharper then when I bought them. The reason I am only giving this 4 stars is because it's made of plastic. I expected for this to be heavy duty and look like nice quality where I could leave it on my counter top. Since this is a plastic body it looks cheap so I just put it away after use. All in all it gets the job done and I am happy with it.
