carried a laptop with 15" screen
I purchased my Harley a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get some bags so I don't have to wear a backpack or fannypack to carry stuff around. Anyhow, I had my eye on these bags but wasn't sure about the quality or how they would fit since they are universal. I went to my local store and found these sitting on the shelf -- the bags I got are Paul Jr. bags but they're the same as the Motogear except for the logo and mine have black waterproof covers versus the Motogear yellow. The shelf price for my bags said $49.88 and I asked a manager for an extra 10% off since the box was badly damaged. Anyhow, for less than $50, I thought I'd take a chance and these are just fantastic. The straps are pretty long so these should fit many bikes. I removed my seat and ran the straps underneath and then ran the buckle straps around the frame and my backrest. The bags are very high quality with good zippers. There are many pockets inside the bags and, if you look in my photo, there are exterior zipper pockets on each bag. I also like the heat-reflecting material on the bottoms and especially appreciate the reflective piping. I'm very happy with the size of the bags, the quality and how they look on my bike. I don't think I'd put more than 10 pounds in each bag but for around town errands or rides in the country, these are a useful addition to my bike at a great price.
The product works great on a 1991 honda nighthawk love it nice bags . bags set high so no heat problems on a nighthawk. see pictures
they fit my bike perfectly and i was able to install the velcro straps under the seat instead of across the top..the bags sit on top of my tail lights and no where near the exhaust....then installed the matching tail bag that i purchased last month......my bike is about the same size as a kawasaki ninja 500..
For occasional vacation use these saddlebags are an excellent value. If you want better you will have to spend two to four times the money.
These bags fit well and are easy to install. They are very roomy and have extra zippered pockets that are not listed in the product description. They are not high-end motorcycle luggage, but for $60 - they are well worth buying.
My old leather bags fell apart after good usage and I didn't have the money to buy leather so I chose these. They are spacious and sit high enough that they don't lean into the moving parts without support brackets. My only issue with them are that they don't fit well across the seat on my Honda Rebel 250. The straps lay across the middle of the P-pad and the very back of the rider's seat. So sitting all the way back in the seat requires sitting over the strap.
I admit I was pretty skeptical. I had been looking at saddle bags for a while but wasn't going to spend $500. I saw these for about $70 and read the reviews and decided to take a chance. My bike: 2006 Harley Softail The bags are a good value. I just needed something to carry rain gear, a lunch and a few accessories and these bags do that just fine. They have enough room for what I need to carry and extra room for a little more when needed. The extra zip pockets are a nice addition to get to things easier. There's a lot of ways to attach to your bike. I chose over the extra seat since I felt going under the seat may have put the bags too close to the wheels.. The straps used to secure the bag to the bike are long enough to be able to find good spots to loop around. As others said the instructions leave a lot to be desired. But with a little patience you can do the installation in about 20 minutes. I haven't ridden in the rain yet so I can't speak to them being waterproof or how the rain covers hold up (very bright yellow... good for safety). Bottom line is that if you just need some extra storage on your bike these bags will do fine.
I bought this for a Ninja and will only mount when needed, so I wanted something inexpensive. These seem well enough made and should serve the purpose for which I bought them, which is to carry stuff when on a trip. I use a back pack to carry stuff for short trips, like when shopping, but wouldn't want to carry a load on my back when riding a couple of hours or more. They attach easily and securely and I like the attached rain covers, getting caught in the rain is inevitable, so good that they will always be available.
unfortunatly i had to return them as they were for a bmw650cs .. they sit accross the back saddle and the gas tank filler is in the same place as the gas tank is actually under the seat ..cant put fuel in tank with bags on the bike (derr!!) my fault i should have thought about it before ordering . delivery was about 9 days (decent but the bags did not contain the yellow rain covers as advertised . packing error in china i bet .) returned to walmart with no problem as usual.. i would buy these bags for another bike as name brand bags costs as much as 10 times more for a bmw .. its just a bag and these would work.
