I was skeptical about these magnetic tank bags. Surely, speeding down the highway, the wind would slip under the lip of the bag and rip it right off the bike. But it doesn't! I couldn't believe it. I took this bag out for a ride yesterday and hit 65mph, down a bumpy highway, and the bag stayed on. It didn't come loose one bit. The bag itself is a smaller size. I was able to fit a 16oz bottle of water, a rolled up long sleeve t-shirt, a bike lock, tissues, small bottle of hand sanitizer, sandwich baggie of trail mix, and I still had some room left. Inside the top flap is a thin velcro pouch, two pen holders, and a keyring clip. The clear map pocket on the outside is very convenient. It's a bit of a struggle to get a map in there positioned how you want it, and it's a rounded shape, so you have to some creative folding for the most visibility. But it works. The map flap does detach, so you can take that with you if you're off the bike. There is a rain pouch included in the secondary zipper compartment. With the rain pouch rolled up, that's about all that fits in there. (Can't attest to how waterproof it is.) There is also a rubberized media port on the side of the bag, so you could snake a small cord through there (charging, ear buds, etc). The bottom of the bag (where the magnets are) is lined with a very soft microfiber, so it doesn't scratch your paint. I make sure to wipe any dust off my tank before I put it on, just to be sure. The carrying handle seems very durable, and since the bag is magnetic, you can just pop it right off and take the whole bag with you. I have a Nighthawk 250, and this bag is the perfect size for my tank. I positioned it with the handle pointing at me, almost touching the seat. That's the ideal spot where it doesn't interfere with handlebars or my riding position. It's also below the gas cap, so I don't have to take it off to re-fuel. If you're looking for a small, magnetic tank bag, this is a great value. It has some nice features, and seems durable. The bag is manufactured by Coleman. Feature-wise this bag is very similar to Cortech Super Mini Tank Bag, but the Paul Jr. bag is half the price!
I bought this to put on my Triumph Tiger 800 xcx. After I ordered it I was thinking it wasnt going to work do to the odd shape of the gas tank. When it arrived i put it on the magnets hold great. Ive been up to 86mph on highway and it has never moved. Even in crosswinds. It works great to hold your iphone, gps, etch in the clear top pouch. Plenty of room for your sunglasses, snacks, sunscreen, some tools, or whatever else you want to put in it. Big enough for a rolled up shirt. I like thats its not overly huge like alot of tank bags.
Even on short rides it helps keep my pockets empty and quick of and on for fuel or other stops.
Very happy ! Fits well on my older motorcycle plenty of room for my gear great value!
I bought this for my Honda Rebel. Fits perfectly (also fits on my husbands Honda Shadow 750) and doesn't move as you're scooting down the road. Like the rain cover feature as it rains a lot here in FL. You just slip it off the tank and you have a easy carry bag! You can get quite a bit of stuff in there too if you pack it creatively! Highly recommend this product!
This is exactly what it claims to be. A small magnetic tank bag that stays put, holds those small items you want to have close at hand. Sturdy, well constructed, with good closures. It's not fancy, but neither am I. At such a low price, I was surprised and pleased at the excellent quality.
i love that you can take the bag with you into a public restroom and just slap it on the stall. the stitching comes loose under normal use. i've had to get a replacement from walmart after the handle fell off the first one. the fabric (seams to be some kind of foam?) on the bottom is soft and holds the bag to the tank securely but is torn relatively easily under normal use. also the handle will mark up your tank if you're not careful.
Good for gloves, maps, small items. Nothing too heavy.
This is an overall good bag for the price. Good size. I can fit gloves, charger and phone, water bottle, and a headlamp in it . There is a pocket for pens, and a note pad and insurance info. The only con I have is the map pocket is small and tapered so it's hard to get a map in it. You have to fold it pretty small and work it in, or cut to size. It stays put on the tank at speeds of 75 mph and up. It has a rain cover as well.
I used this bag for an 1800 mile trip from Denver to Philadelphia, 7 days riding. At the end of the trip my gas tank was scratched up and deep grooves into the paint down to the metal.
