Pros and Cons

I did not get the whole travel system, just the stroller itself, so that's all I'm reviewing here. I have had the stroller for about one month and use it for a one year old. When I bought this stroller, I wanted three things: 1) A snack tray for the child 2) One-handed steering 3) Sufficient height so that my 6' tall husband could push without hunching over The stroller provides all of those three. I don't think it's really intended for one-handed steering, but it can be done with a little effort. I got the top three features on my "wish list" so I was happy at first, but I quickly learned of some down sides. Here are the pros and cons in my opinion. PROS: 1. Height. The handlebar is a full 40" high, so it's comfortable for a taller person to steer. 2. Assembly. Super easy. 3. Color. After having a few gender-neutral strollers, I really love seeing my little girl in this pretty stroller. 4. Lightweight. I've had to carry it up stairs a couple of times. It's not too bad. 5. Good sized basket. Compared to other lightweight strollers, the cargo room is good. 6. Good sized parent tray. The cup holders on our previous strollers weren't big enough to hold a Snapple bottle. These are. 7. Removable snack tray for child. I needed a snack tray, and few inexpensive strollers have one. The snack tray is removable, but it should be noted that it has to be completely on or completely off. In other words, you can't just swing it up and down if your child wants to climb in and out. 8. Steering. Steering is easy and smooth, never a problem. CONS: 1. Size. This stroller is big. My one year old is big for her age (she wears a size 2T), yet this stroller swallows her up. It doesn't cradle her, and she ends up slumped to one side more often than not. It might be better for an older toddler, but the weight limit is 40 pounds. 2. Size when folded. This stroller does not fold small. If you're looking for a space saver this is not it. Basically, the handlebar folds down and the front and rear wheels move a little closer together. 3. Latch. This is just really bad. The latch to hold the stroller closed when folded is just a piece of plastic that sticks out awkwardly all the time. It does not fold in when not in use. I'm always bumping it, and I have to be very careful not to poke my eye when I bend down to access the basket. It's flimsy and gets bent out of shape easily. It does not do a fantastic job of keeping the stroller closed. It doesn't catch half the time, and even when it does catch, it comes loose easily. 4. Seat angle. The apparatus for adjusting the seat angle is flimsy. The smallest angle is still a fairly big recline. There is no straight up position, which is silly because a reclining child cannot reach the snack bar. In fact, the angle and shape of the seat and lack of shoulder straps causes the child to slide forward in the seat. Without the crotch strap, the child would slide right out. This bothered me so much that I jerry rigged something to keep the seat straight up. Now it looks right, so I'm wondering if maybe I just got a faulty recline apparatus. I don't know. 5. Infant seat latches. This stroller can be purchased as part of a travel system, so you can buy an infant seat to attach to it. But since I'm not using the stroller with the infant seat, the latches are just in the way. I wish they could be covered. When my daughter falls asleep, she always ends up leaning against one. It looks very uncomfortable. 6. Canopy. Canopy isn't protected when folded and gets bent out of shape easily. When you put the canopy in its fully closed position it rubs against the handlebar, interferes with the parent tray, and interferes with folding the stroller. 7. Parent tray. There's no way to attach the parent tray really firmly. However, it's only fallen off once, so it might not be a big deal. 8. Folding mechanism. This part feels flimsy and is temperamental. It almost never folds on the first try. I have to jiggle it a little. When you get a lightweight stroller, you might expect some flimsiness here and there, but the folding mechanism is not a place where manufacturers should cut corners. If this part breaks, I will have to contact the manufacturer to express my disappointment and see what can be done. BOTTOM LINE Though this stroller has some nice features that can be hard to find, the cons outweigh the pros in my opinion. I've decided that it'll do for us, but if I had it to do over again, I would probably pick something else. I would not recommend it to a friend.
