I was able to activate two iPhone 5s phones (one Verizon factory unlocked , the other AT&T still locked) on Cricket through their website activation process - I didn't need to talk to a Cust Svc Rep at all. You simply need to make sure that the Walmart employee that you buy these SIMs from scans the proper codes from the packaging so that Cricket recognizes that you possess an activate-able SIM card (a process to ensure that the SIM card is not stolen). I bought Walmart's BYOD Cricket SIM card kit because it was cheaper than Cricket's (online and in stores) and the activation was free (vs. costing up to $25 in a Cricket store).
Well cricket is owned by att which of course uses there network. The speeds are not going to be as fast as att, but still decent speeds. I had att for 12 years until switching to cricket. Same level of quality just a little slower speeds. Voice quality the same. Great plans for the money.
This is the best deal for Cricket Sim Card. Buy it here and activate it online. Save $25 activation by not going to store. Cricket is basically AT&T but in a fraction of cost. As a matter of fact, if you use refer.cricketwireless.com/8ordajc to sign up you'll receive $25 credit. Enjoy.
When I decided to get service from Cricket I needed the sim card and ordered it for pickup in store. Don't know what sim would have cost if I had ordered thru Cricket or purchased at a Cricket store, just assumed Wal-Mart price would be same or less.
Activated and transferred my line to Cricket. The activation was just about 5 min. Everything works great so far. I went to Cricket store, they told me activation fee is $25, and $20 for the sim card. But if you purchase from here, you only pay about $10, and no activation fee. So saved me $35. Where is another $25? You can save $25 if your friend refer you. https://refer.cricketwireless.com/public/home.pg If you want to save $25 and no friends can send you a referral link. I purchased 5 Cricket Wireless BYOD kits and moved/ported my whole family over. Since all five phones were in different locations (cities/states) at the time I had to get the sim kits to each person in advance. I also took pictures of each sim kit (iccid number) and also had everyone text me there IMEI number (dial *#06#) . I tried to go through the Cricket wireless website to activate but it was easier for me to just call Cricket at 855.619.6021. It took about 20 minutes to provide all the above information for each line plus my account info/pin code. I asked the Cricket rep if I could hold off activation until the last day of my current bill cycle and they said "no problem just call back when your ready". When I called back to officially activate it only took about 5 minutes max. I also gave my family plenty of warning about when they would need to power down and replace the current sim with the new Cricket Wireless sim. I know that moving to a new service can be a pain but with a little planning, communication and this kit it was really simple! NOTE: Make sure all of your phones are paid-off and unlocked before you start this process; just check with your current provider. Also, if you would like to get $ back please checkout the referral program with Cricket. If you go to (the link) below and sign up when you activate your service we will both receive a $25 bill credit. THANK YOU! http://getm.pt/574w8w?JOHNH-000FCC
I will buy it again
Sim card fit in my phone fine (Moto X Pure Edition) however Cricket's activation site did not recognize the sim card number as a valid sim. I had to call Cricket for them to activate my service and the sim works as expected. My brother received a cricket sim card from Walmart as well and he was able to activate on the site with no problem.
Kit seems to work fine. I'm not really a fan of the micro and standard adapters that you place the nano sim card in, the micro adapter didn't really hold the sim card securely. But I got it to work. But holy cow, porting my number from Straight Talk was a major hassle from the Straight Talk side. What should have taken 2 minutes took 72 hours.
could not activate. took to local store and they could not fix the problem. returned and received my refund.
