I bought this for my husband as a christmas present. We both really like it. It arrived quite quickly. There was one broken piece, but fortunately my husband was able to repair it with some glue and clamps. It is very attractive. What I didn't realize when I ordered it is that you can move the parts that you hang things on back and forth. It is a good value.
Very nice piece of furniture but follow your instincts when putting it together. Probably shouldn't start with the base. Would certainly buy it again.
I have to buy many items online during the year. Most come with problems - the website, the transaction, the accounting, the shipping, the packaging, the assembly instructions, ... you get the point! I ordered the Kobe coat rack and it arrived just a few days later. It was easy to assemble and the end result is phenomenal. It looks like a piece of art while providing a place to hang coats and clothes. Very good product, well made and reasonably priced.
You know how some Scandinavian furniture (think the store with the name that rhyms with ""idea"") is easy to put together but also looks like it was ""assembled""? That's how this piece looks. It's pretty enough, but if you look too closely you can tell that it is prefab parts that had to be assembled. Given the price, I should have expected that. I'm probably too picky but that's what it looks like to me. The only assembly problem was that holes into which two wooden dowels were to fit were too small. So, no wood dowels there. Otherwise, fairly sturdy. and attractive in my entry. It's just the right size and easily handles the weight of big puffy parkas.
Assembly instructions clear enough for this 70 year old woman to accomplish. Wood finish smooth and flawless. Beautifully designed. Unique for having some hooks within a child's reach.
This coat rack isn't going to compete with anything high-end. The finish is a little funky in places, as is some of the alignment of pieces. The instructions were also a bit confusing, though I finally managed to get it assembled. Basically, it's a nice design, passable quality and does the job.
It not only looks good but the wide base makes it pretty sturdy. It didn't take long to assemble even with my two year old trying to help :) I would definitely recommend this product.
The coat rack fits easily behind the door and looks good. We worked hard to put the base together and it is solid, as it sits on our hard wood floor. The arms move and click a bit when the coats are hung. It is OK for now, but will keep my eyes open when shopping in the stores.
The rungs that the coats hang on are not fixed, so they slide around whenever you try and hand something on it, making it a two hand job. Very Disappointed.
