Worked well. Glad I purchased it to help deal with a bumper crop of tomatoes.
This food mill is replacing a 60 year old food mill that finally wore out. It is east to assemble and use. I am very happy with the results and choice of 3 different options for milling.
Amazing tool for any gardener/ canning. Solely purchased for tomatoes. Works awesome, easy to clean. This just upped my canning game! Homemade spaghetti sauce!!
I asked for and received the food mill for Christmas. I had done much research and asked for the Cuisinart mill for several reasons. 1. I wanted a stainless steel one; 2. It came with different size blades; 3. Easy to wash; and 4. I have had the same Cuisinart food processor for 40+ years and have only replaced the blade and bowl once! The food mill is wonderful for making apple sauce!
I had an old Foley Food Mill but it was very hard to get some food through. I saw this Cuisinart with the changeable discs and larger holes. I was making apple butter with unpeeled apples. The Cuisinart does the job!! Easy to change plates and to clean. I'm so happy I saw this and bought it.
Used my Cuisinart Mill several times since purchasing at Christmas. Most reliable piece of equipment in my kitchen. Does exactly what it is supposed to do every time without a hitch. Reliability is a selling point in every piece of equipment manufacturer today. This piece has just that.
It's terrific for milling the seed and skin out of tomatoes, although the rubber gasket that holds the food processor together came off and was lost for a couple of days. I think my wife thought I'd put calamari in the sauce I made. Maybe a rubber lined screw on piece would be better.
It didn't perform as well as the one I had years ago. I the blade does not scrape the bottom disc. Also there is not piece underneath that scrapes the bottom side. Took a lot more work. Love Cuisinart but not happy wit this mill.
I bought this to crush canned Italian tomatoes so the seeds would not be part of the sauce that I make. The tomatoes cannot get under the paddle even though I do cut them up (the paddle is not high enough). I was lucky enough that my daughter had a Foley Food Mill which works perfectly
I never thought an inventor could invent a complicated food mill like this. I had a Foley food mill for over 50 years (photo attached) which was easy to use and obviously did the job. The Cuisinart is hard to assemble and terrible to clean.
