Cuisinart says, ‘Savor the Good Life,' and that's what it is when you can make ice cream and gelato at home. I made the Strawberry ice cream to break the machine in. Wow, the family was thrilled with the results. Everyone commented on how good it tasted. Since, I've made vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter cup. All delicious. I'm making lemon gelato as I write this review. It's more of a process to make gelato, but just enjoy the process and look forward to the results. The appliance itself is built like a tank. It has a 3 year warranty which is outstanding. It's a simple design and not complicated with unnecessary features.
This is an amazing ice-cream maker. It has its own compressor and requires no pre-freezing of bowls. It makes ice cream in about 40 minutes from scratch. Just mix the ingredients, pour them in, set timer and start it up. I have make around 20 batches of ice cream. No issues. I highly recommend this over models that require you to freeze the bucket or use ice, etc. Even has a keep cool feature that runs 10 mins. after it finishes.
I've put ingredients in that we're not cold and it makes great ice cream. Most recipes I use it takes two time to make so I wish it was a little bigger. But you can start a new recipe right after last one . My first icecream maker first recipe came out perfect
We purchased recently and it was a definitely a splurge item but we love it. We have made several batches of ice cream, gelato, sorbet and just made a sherbet today. I don't think we buy ice cream ever again. We love that you can make more than one batch in a day.
I wasn't aware that ice cream makers had come so far since the old hand crank rock salt variety! I started researching the ones where you have to freeze the bowl, but my freezer space is limited, then i found this one. It's more pricey then the frozen bowl ones, but I can make one batch right after another with no waiting. Some people complained about how hard it is to clean off the ice cream spills over. You just need to follow the instructions and don't overfill it. I take the bucket out of the machine to fill it so i don't spill, and keep an eye on it while it's churning. If it starts to come up too high that's a good indication that it's done. I love that it has 2 different paddles, for both ice cream and gelato. I've made both and they've come out great! I started with a simple recipe that came with the instruction book, and have made several batches from recipes I've found online. The machine is bigger and heavier than I expected, but I have room for it on my kitchen cart. I highly recommend this product!
I love that it has the built-in compressor so you don't have to freeze a bowl the day before. The unit is fairly quiet, and I have mine sitting on the kitchen cart ready to be used. The ice cream it makes is wonderful and I like that you can make so many different kinds of ice cream and I have made a frosty paw taste alike ice cream for my 2 dogs using yogurt, peanut butter and banana which the dogs love. I have tried the freezer bowl method twice, and have bought the salt and ice style ice cream maker, and I will never again go back to that. This machine is too easy to use. Love it!
I really like this machine, its quiet in operation and making ice cream took about 25 minutes or so and it came out great! I even used it to make a frosty paws style ice cream for my 2 dogs. When it arrived, I set it on the counter and waited 24 hours before turning it on since I found the package was delivered and it was on its side and didn't want to risk damaging the compressor. I have used the salt and ice type, as well as the "freeze the bowl" style ice cream makers and this thing is 100 times better. You can make batch after batch because it has a built-in compressor that will keep the bowl chilled. Love it! Highly recommended.
I am really enjoying this machine. I tried a less-expensive brand, but that was a disaster (it didn't work); the Cuisinart worked like a charm from the first batch of gelato. Yesterday, I made THREE different gelati in the space of 3 hours (after allowing ingredients to chill in the refrigerator overnight), and they were all a big hit with my company.
It's easy. It's fast. I've made 4 batches. 1) online snickerdoodle recipe, used the 2 hour pre cool recommendation and it turned out wonderfully. 2) repeat 1, but cut portion in half and did not do pre cool, and it turned out wonderfully. 3) repeat 1, but did not pre cool and it turned out wonderfully 4) did the strawberry recipe that comes with it, pre cooled overnight, and have to say it's the best strawberry ice cream I've had. Can't wait to try others.
Absolutely LOVE this ice cream maker! Easy to use and the ice cream is tastes awesome. My 11 and 7 year old granddaughters love making ice cream!
