If you don't buy this you will never get the sound quality that you get in this product.
I bought this mic for my girlfriend as we talk on skype a lot and the quality of her voice is just superb. But the best thing about this mic is the noise canceling capabilities. My girlfriend would put her volume on max and I can barely hear the song. :D
Very good price, arrived quickly.
This is a basic microphone that works good for skype. It has an on and off switch. The switch is a little stiff, but it works. It doesnt need to be right next to you, has a good 3 foot range. Good basic microphone.
Sound quality marginal for VOIP use, like Skyp.
Bought to replace a VERY old (10+ years) mic that had some trouble discerning some commands while using a speech recognition software called VoiceAttack. Since my computer had been well trained I plugged in the CVL-1065b thinking it should be a easy replacment. The output of the CVL-1065b was not clear enough for VoiceAttack to understand 99% of the commands spoken. Even after retraining the computer and a day of tweaking the settings I could not get any better fidelity so I unplugged it and plugged my old mic back in and my voice recognition software works again. In my experience the CVL-1065b did work but it was very muddy and not crisp enough to use in applications you need to be understood.
I bought this microphone a couple of weeks ago and just tried it today. It arrived not working. My computer doesn't detect it, and the microphone does not detect sound at all. Even the on/off switch is very stupid and should have been left out of the design. I have to use my teeth to get it to switch on or off, not that it matters because it doesn't work. I was so excited to finally have a working microphone and unfortunately I was very dissapointed. I am VERY VERY VERY dissatisfied with this product, I hope anyone else looking to buy one reads the reviews first, because anyone will tell you it is absolutely worthless.
This product is only one notch above useless. True, it is cheap but it is also cheaply made and of poor quality. I have to scream in order to be heard even when holding the microphone just centimeters from my mouth & even then, the sound breaks up like a poor cell connection. Spend your money on another product.
I bought this for presentations. It went out in just a few months. REALLY BAD PRODUCT. HATE IT. WILL NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN.
