I was looking for a digital replacement for a cassette tape recorder. This is it! You'll need an editing computer program to separate songs to put on a cd as separate tracks unless you record them separately. The reproduction is great.
I purchased this so I could move up from a cassette recorder to digital. The quality of the recordings is awesome! A friend who has to record telephone conferences purchased one, too. She is also very pleased. We both highly recommend this. Best price on the internet!
I AM USING THIS RECORDER FOR TWO WAY RADIO COMMUNICATION RECORDING,,,I CAN ADJUST MY LEVEL FOR IN ROOM,,LINE IN ,,,AND IT IS EXCIPTIONAL ! SENSATIVITY IS TREMENDOUS,,REMEMBER YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE S/D CARD AND INSERT IT INTO YOUR COMPUTER FOR TRANSFERING YOUR FILES ,,BUT NOT A PROBLEM,,,QUALITY IS THE NAME OF THIS RECORDER. MY ONLY CONSERN IS THE DELAY TIME FOR THE RECORDER TO START ONCE YOU PUSH AND HOLD THE RECORD BUTTON,,,TAKES LIKE 5 SECONDS TO START,,,,YOU WILL NEED TO PLAN AHEAD WHEN RECORDING.
Performs as expected. Very compact and easy to operate.
This is a very good product that records phone calls through the wall- works with wireless home handsets too- set and plug into the wall and can record from any phone around the house. Truly a great item
Digital recording allows me to tape my favorite radio morning shows and download them onto my computer or even transfer them to my mp3 player to listen to when I'm out of town. 2gb SDHD card allows me to record up to 35 hours. I can also hook up inline stereo components and transfer old records and tapes to digital mp3 format. I ended up buying a second one since I liked it so much!!
Works well playing MP3 copies of my LP/CD collection. Recording process was easy. Build quality is very good. The only issue is it puts a brief pause between tracks- even when songs are strung together. A little annoying, but not a deal-breaker for me. Over all, I'm quite pleased with this and can store my collection (and their players) away.
Make sure you have a " SIMMS CARD " that you can format with your computer otherwise you can't retain the recording. My computer was not able to format and neither could Wal - Mart so I returned it. However, it had all the bells and whistles one might need such as noise suppression and would only pick - up the most important parts of your recording. FOR the money I think it was well worth the effort. Thank You !!
I bought this for phone recording only, so I didn't try to use other features. On incoming calls it drops the first few words. I contacted their tech support and after a few exchanges of info, I learned that this recorder "is not designed to be used with VOIP". Well, how was I to know that before I bought it? Additionally, it was only a guess on their part that this might be the problem. If someone who uses a conventional phone line wants to try it, it might then prove whether or not VOIP is the problem. In addition to the above, there's no caller ID. The display only shows the date and time of the call, so I found it necessary to keep a call log on paper. ie: a nuisance. The display is cramped. Too much unimportant information shown. The calls shown on the display are random, Not sequential, so therefore, confusing. The time format can be set for 12 hour or 24 hour. I set it for 12 hour, and that's what it shows on the display, but when reviewing calls it shows them in 24 hour, and I couldn't find a way to change that. Also, the time gains about a minute every other day. The operating controls are somewhat confusing, and the manual isn't much help. The calls are stored on an SD card, but no card is included. Therefore, add the cost of the card to the price you pay for the recorder. On the other hand they include a nice carrying case. It would have been better to save the cost of the carrying case, and include an SD card instead. There's no tone control for playback. Even the cheapest of tape recorders I have seen have that item. For phone conversations, the voice quality is ok, so that control is not necessary. I don't know how well it plays music. I think this is only the second review for this product on the Walmart website, but there's lots of reviews on Amazon.com. If you haven't guessed it by now, this is going back to Walmart for a refund.
Installed batteries the day I received it (alkalines - make sure you set the battery switch) and the display lit right up when I turned it on. Set the clock and checked other settings, then shut it off. Turned it on two days later to record a meeting, and could hardly see the display. Tried plugging in to A/C in case batteries were bad, but no change. Tried adjusting brightness setting, but it didn't help. Assuming I just had one with a defective display which I could exchange, I tried recording the meeting. When I played back recording, there was such a loud buzzing sound that I could hardly hear the voices. Again, assuming there might have been something electronic in the room creating the buzz, I tried recording my own voice in a dead quiet room. Same problem. This device is being returned for refund. [Note: No rating on battery life because I didn't keep it long enough to find out.]
