Believe it or not, a full home theater system, comprised of the best that Def-Tech have available at that time, have been something I've wanted for more than TWENTY YEARS!! I now have the best front towers, center channel and rear surrounds that is currently offered by Definitive Technology, along with a kick butt receiver and an 85 inch 4K TV and I must say........it has been worth the wait!!!! I am IN HEAVEN every night that I fire this system up to either watch a movie or to enjoy my favorite music!! Quality, craftsmanship, sound reproduction........ABSOLUTE HEAVEN!! Thank you Def-Tech for making what is arguably THE best speaker, of any kind, at any price!!
If you were to replace a single speaker in your current speaker set, I would start with this center channel first. Amazing difference. Paired with BP-9080x, it's even better. Just some notes, too heavy to put on a shelf and chance it falling on something or someone. Make sure you either have TV mounted at least 7" above the resting surface for the center channel speaker. I didn't want to mount my TV so I elevated it; wound up liking the new height of the TV.
Recently updated my Home Theater system with this CS9080. I upgraded to the CS9080 from a ProCenter 2000. Huge increase in clarity and fullness of sound from the Center Channel. The added benefit of a powered 8" subwoofer in this center speaker truly balances out the bass across the entire soundstage, versus only emanating bass from my two DefTech BiPolar towers in the left and right corners, 14 feet apart. This fills the bass void in the middle so elegantly and subtly. With this center subwoofer design, you hear the full range of deeper voices (such as Darth Vader's) and special effects that used to sound "tinny" when using a lesser Center Channel than the CS9080. Well done Def Tech!
