A GOOD VALUE ALTERNATIVE

After 20 years without a Food Preserver I finally decided to purchase a Vacuum Sealer after watching one (Expensive) on a Infomercial. Doing Internet product reviews I saw the updated Version of the brand I previously used “Seal a Meal” with good reviews. I also saw the Deni FRESHLOCK with mixed reviews, and decided to inspect both. However, I chose the Deni because it stored the rolled bagging material, and cut it, and vacuumed extracted in simple steps, all at a greatly agreeable price! While before I initially used it I made a Customer Service call to obtain some setup, information (instructions too wordy and not clear). I bagged seasoned Rib Eye Steaks, and block Cheese, for long-term storage. I bought the unit in preparation for anticipated bulk, blanched veggie, and leftover storage. I plan to write a follow up of the storage results. So far, I am pleased with my purchase.

we have never had a food sealer before it seems to work ok, the only thing I can see is that It needs a little more power to draw the bags down tighter, but it seems to work ok, works good for the price.

This is an economical package sealer purchased to replace a similar one used for 4 years. The vacuum feature is weak, but the sealing mechanism is quite adequate. The nichrome heat wire is delicate and must be treated gingerly, lest it will snap and destroy the entire devices function. Price compared to other models is quite low. Site to store is a WalMart plus.

it didnt have the features of the ones you can buy in the stores, so it just wasnt worth it to me when i can do basically the same thing with the ziplock vac bags and the ziplock pump doesnt need power i returned it to my local walmart

i got this because i wasn't sure i wanted to invest >$100.00 on a good one that i might not use very much. for me this was a good option for a first time vacuum sealer. however, i find that i do use it a lot. while its true you get what you pay for, this item works well enough ... but i wouldn't let the leftovers sit for more than a month in the freezer. some of my wetter items didn't seal as well as the solid foods. the bags' working in microwave and boil in bag features are true to their claims. the vacuum feature could create a stronger suction, and the seal works very well. i would recommend this for those who eat leftovers regularly. i will probably upgrade for a better quality name brand within 6 months.

Do not recommend

I was very disappointed with this product. The sealing wire is just that - a very thin wire. It makes an extremely thin sealing line. I just would not trust that the seal would hold up under any type of pressure. Plus the bags that come with it are very light weight. No wonder it's so cheap. I would not recommend it for food storage or liquids. If you just want to seal up non-editable parts or crafts then it should be okay. After trying it out a few times I returned it to the store.

I bought this sealer to use in keeping documents dry and food preserved. How ever the bags arent much thicker than sandwich bags and the heated seal that is on the edge of the bags is done by a single wire which doesnt seal air tight. Also the vacuum is weak. Save your money and buy a better one. Because this one isnt worth it. Also note I dont right bad reveiws for most items I have bought but ths one item is all but worthless.

This product is not worth the money even at the cheaper price. Does not vacuum the air out well at all, bags are extremely thin and the light did not kick off on mine when it is finished sealing. Was refunded money completely though from secondary company that shipped the product. This cannot be returned to WalMart. No complaints about customer service whatsoever just a really bad product.

I bought this item and the sealing feature worked great but the vacuum just doesn't have the power. I am exchanging for the model that has a 5 star rating. You get what you pay for!
