I really like this product. It has two remotes and I put one in my refrigerator in the kitchen and I put the other one in my chess freezer in the laundry room. They work very well. Now I do not have to look inside the chess freezer to know that the temperature is OK. This was always a pain to do.
I have placed the thermometers in the fridge and freezer using the spring clips, which hold them in place very well. The monitor shows the current and max and min temperatures from each unit. This is just what I needed to monitor these temps. Now I do not have to guess how to set the thermostat to insure that the freezer stays very cold while the vegetables in the fridge are kept at just the right temperature to remain fresh and to not freeze.
Consistently accurate when compared to freezer refrigerator thermometer's but saves you from having to open fridge to check temperature.
We purchased a very large freezer to put in our garage without the bells and whistles of an alarm or a temperature display. We purchased this digital thermometer to alert us if the freezer failed. So far this purchase has been a real winner. Although we only needed one temperature module, this came with 2 modules, the second one was placed in our spare refrigerator in the garage. Now we are able to monitor 2 appliances with one digital thermometer, bonus!! Note to buyers, set the alarms after the temperature units in the refrigerator and freezer have had time to acclimate to the temperature inside the appliance. Make sure to give the alarm a range of several degrees because the appliances vary several degrees while running. In order to test the digital thermometer alarms we changed the range to a setting outside the norm and within about 15 seconds the alarms went off. Our base unit is in the kitchen and I could hear the alarm from 2 rooms away. It is not a piercing alarm, more like when your stove timer goes off. Having the base unit in the kitchen affords me the opportunity to glance at the unit and see that our appliance out in the garage are working fine. This gives us peace of mind. I highly recommend purchasing this digital thermometer.
I am using both probes in our kitchen refrigerator. They are on different shelves. The monitor is easy to read and use. The order process was easy to do. Thanks, Walmart!
Easy to use, economical device. Would even recommend it to someone with a new refrigerator/freezer so one could see how their appliance performs from the beginning.
This is the best freezer and refrigerator gauge around. AcuRite has done it right. I have one transmitter in the garage freezer and the other in a small refrigerator in the house. It has a good readout with high and low temps. The alarm is a little weak in sound but the highs and lows tell you how the thermostat is working. One thing, don't put the transmitter directly on a shelf refrigerant line because it will give a false reading. Put the transmitter on some of the frozen items.
After a faulty part of my freezer almost ruin all food in the freezer, I bought this stuff. Works great, give current temperature, and ranges. Easy to set alarms for both high/low limits.
Works great! Gives you a sense of security for refrigerator and freezer. You can set the hi/lo temps for each sending unit. Display unit has strong magnet. I put one sending unit in my kitchen refrigerator and the other in a freezer located in the garage. Display unit easily receives signal for both. Lots of Pros, but one Con: Package shows each sending unit requires 2 AA batteries. What it doesn't show, until you read the instructions, is that they recommend Lithium batteries for the freezer sending unit, because alkaline batteries quit working at very low temperatures. Plan for the added expense.
I bought this thermometer for my travel trailer refrigerator. I thought it was not cooling enough. I tried it out on the house fridge and freezer first. I am very pleased. It is quick and easy to setup and has operated flawlessly. I realized the freezer on the home fridge was subzero (-4 F) which is colder than necessary, so I adjusted the temp up which should help save energy. The battery door on the main unit keeps falling off because it is made of thin cheap plastic. That is my only complaint and why I rated this product only 4 stars.
