I was very impressed whenever I first ate this, now this is on my regular shopping order. for a very quick and easy meal this is very very delicious!!
Actually pretty tasty, and I despise most processed food. I can *eat* it because many times it's what there is available for me to eat. If I have a choice though.. With that said, as far as canned soups, stews etc go the good ol dinty Moore is a tried and true winner. Flavor is actually good, reasonably close to a prepared home meal. Flavors aren't just your usual sodium ripe peppery blandness like most canned garbage out there. It's not health food though. Still has too much sodium. Between fast food and the subsidized processed food industry we Americans are being poisoned and shortening our lifespans and paying good money to do it. It's just wrong. Anyway back to this, it's good. Better than most processed choices.
I have been a loyal fan of the beef stew for as long as I can remember but that has changed. This last can I opened had NO meat in it at all, just gravy, potatoes, and carrots. This was always my favorite meal and I could actually cook it right in the can over the campfire. But it has steadily gone downhill, first to ground meat and now no meat at all. Let us all know if you decide to change it back. I will not be buying it any longer. Very sad sign of the times.
I have used Dinty Moore Beef Stew as a staple for years and years. A few years ago they changed the recipe and at first I didn't like it, but I grew accustomed to the change and continued eating it several nights per week (single person). Now they have changed it again and I won't even eat the remaining cans I have. It's terrible. It has the strangest flavor. I don't know what I will do now - but it will be something different because this new recipe is the worst ever. Good luck Hormel - don't know why you want to mess with a good thing. SMH
When I was a child I use to eat dinty moore beef stew all the time. It was my favorite thing to eat. My whole family use too eat it all the time. Every since you guys changed it, it doesn't taste good at all. Me and my whole family are disappointed and I'm just gonna say that if you changed it back to the way it use too be then your sales would probably go back up. I probably have had 20 some people in my family say they won't even touch it anymore and we all use to eat it all the time. Please change it back
I've been eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew as long as I can remember and I can say I just had my last can. If you believe that small ground up pieces of something that's supposed to be meat can replace a chunk of beef you are sadly mistaken. Please change the picture on the can, there are no large chunks of beef in the stew.
I don't want the mushrooms in Dinty Moore stew. Please hold the mushrooms. I don't know why you would change something that made you famous. Don't fix it if it's not broke. I can't eat the new stew because I do not like mushrooms. Thanks for mail for messing with something that I grew up on. You should've left it alone. It was already a famous product. Without mushrooms.
The new Hearty Dinty Moore Beef Stew tastes terrible and can best compared to dog food. First time we tried it we looked at other and said "YUCK" in unison. First and last time. No more Hearty garbage for us! Thanks so much Hormel! The original Dinty Moore Beef Stew was delicious and my family ate it twice a week. Too bad companies don't know how to leave a good thing alone.
I've been eating this product off and on for more than 40 years and it used to be a favorite comfort food, especially for camping. I've bought my last can. The flavor has changed significantly but even worse it no longer has stew meat in it, which changes the texture completely. It went from "yum" to "ick!".
Shameful that it took days to deliver food and water!! I sent to fill a need for food shortage for a family member. Common sense would have told any of you that should be priority. Never again. Amazon delivered food and water in one day!!
