This is a good solid dish, no sides needed. My granddaughter who had gastric by pass loves the taste and consistency of this dish. She lives off of this stuff. Other members like this dish too but not like our granddaughter. Great taste and a filling dinner item.
45 years ago, I worked at Hormel making chili and beef stew so I know how it's made and it's still the best you can buy. You will find it in my cupboard today with all the necessities like salt and pepper. I add 4 ounces of meat and it's perfect. Hormel has done well over all these years because they believe you don't mess with perfection!
the 15oz Dinty Moore Beef Stew tastes great. Plus as a single person it is the right meal size for me. Bowl of stew a couple slices of buttered bread and I am satisfied. I tried the store brands but their gravy had much less flavor then the Dinty Moore brand. The price is right also.
Standard "emergency food" for years, kinda what the military should put in MRE's. Toss in some sauteed onions, a shot of garlic powder and italian spices, and voila. It is what it is.
Great flavor, but it is very salty. I would not recommend it for someone on a salt restricted diet, but it is a hearty addition to my hurricane supplies.
Better than I expected, but not nearly as good as I’d hoped it would be. I didn’t like the liquid they had in the can, so I strained it out and replaced it with tomato sauce; much, much better! Now it reminds me of the stew my mother made when I was a kid.

Not that good. Bit into something hard almost chipped a tooth.
I am very disappointed because the cans are the same price as the bigger cans, and when I saw the possible substitution, I thought they were substituting for the larger versions of beef stew as I didn't even know they made a smaller can
