I own two golden retrievers that shed all the time. We own hard wood floors, rugs, and carpet that is hard to find a vacuum that cleans all areas along with dog fur. I have gone through 3 vacuums within 4 months. Each vacuum could not pick up the dog hair on wood floors.....I purchased this vacuum and absolutly love it. It cleans up the wood floors without scratching them and all the carpets. My house seemed like a mess when I filled the canister 2 times after each room. 10 Canisters later and the house is clean. I would recommend this product to anyone who owns animals!!!!!!! This is a great competitor against the Dyson and $400.00 cheaper!!!!
It is awesome. I have dogs that live in the house with me. They shed a lot. I bought this vacuum to see if it was any better than what I had. I didn't know what I was missing with the other one. This vacuum is great. The only thing that I have found that is bad about it is the tank is so small. You may have to empty it quite often. But I can live with that. You will be surprise to see what comes out of your carpet! I am very pleased with it!
This is the most wonderful vacuum for pet owner's. I have never had a vacuum that had such a powerful suction that it left lines on the floor this one does. I have two inside dogs and it is doing a wonderful job picking up their hair. LOVE LOVE LOVE this vacuum. Only thing i wish was that the canaster was bigger but I can live with that.
What an awesome product! We have four dogs and wow I thought my other vacuum was doing a good job but this little dirt devil is amazing. I am so amazed what it got out of my carpets and even in the kitchen. Thanks Walmart for giving me such an awesome place to work and shop. I love you guys! Oh as far as usage tip be sure to check your canister often when you first use this little beauty it will surprise you at how fast it fills up, which is a good thing that means it works and well!
I purchased this vacuum for my wife for Christmas. We were having company over and needed to clean so I decided to go ahead and give her the vacuum early. This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. We have two dogs, a yellow lab and a daschund. Our lab sheds like crazy. The first couple of rows that I vacuumed the container was completly filled up with hair. When I was finished I couldnt see any hair on the carpet. The tools that come with the vacuum are very useful too. They work great when cleaning around base boards and furniture. After vacuuming the entire house my wife was folding laundry and happend to drop a black sock on the ground. When she picked it up there was no dog hair on it! Just to check I took the sock and rubbed it into the carpet to see if I could pick up any hair and to my amazement there was no hair on the sock not even one strand. This is by far the best vacuum ever and the price cannot be beat. Even if you do not have a pet I highly recomend this vacuum.
I own a long hair cat, dog and a large parrot. As you might imagine I've got a lot of pet dander, and hair to deal with. My previous Hoover could not keep up with all the pet hair and dander so I decided to buy something else. I saw this Purpose for Pets system and decided to give it a try. Right away I decided to try it out on my cats sleeping chair. The chair is made from a black cloth so as you might imagine it had lots of hair on it. I was very surprised at how effortlessly it picked up all the hair. It also picked up a lot of dust from the home that my previous system did not.
We purchased our Dirt Devil M14000 vac on 3Dec. With two screws and a little reading it was together in just a few minutes. We had an older Hoover upright and we thought it done an acceptable job over the years. We tried the new vac in the living room first. It was amazing how much hair, fur, and just plain dust came out of the rug! We have two kittys and the vac certainly lives up to its title for pets! When going forward across the rugs, it seems to pull itself (like a self propelled vac).The attachments work well too. I can not rate the "durability" a full 5 stars, because we just got it. The only two things we noted to the negative side were: that using the hose off an upright is a little awkward and it's a little noisey when used. But what's a little noise when it works so well at a price that is well worth the performance received!
I was a little iffy when I bought this vacuum due to the fact that every vacuum I've ever owned could never pick up the hair that my dogs shed. I got the vacuum home and put it all together and fell in love with it from the first swipe across my carpet! I too had a problem with the motor overheating and shutting itself off, but that was because I had been without a vacuum for about 2 weeks before I got this one, so it really had to work overtime. It shut itself off twice during that vacuuming, but it has not happened again since. I was so amazed at how much better this vacuum worked compared to my previous vacuums. I live in a dry climate area that has a lot of dust and not only does it pick up the tons of dog hair, but it gets all the dirt out as well!! I definitely recommend this product to anyone who owns or doesn't own pets!!!
My mom has this vacuum. At first this worked pretty well. I really liked how it picked up well...not so much on the hair part though. After about a month of use, it started shutting off after you use it for more than 10 minutes or so at a time. You had to let it sit for like 30 to 45 minutes before it would even turn back on, and even then it would not stay on for the length of time you need it to. The upper part of the filter liked to get clogged every other use too. Even with the floors being relatively clean! I would not recommend this to anyone.
I bought one of these vacuums, and the attachment didn't work, had no suction at all. Well i thought i would just use the vacuum for my floors and use something else for my couches. Well, this vacuum shuts off after 3 minutes of use due to over heating. I e-mailed Dirt Devil, they said it was my fault, the cup wasn't cleaned and many other things. The cup was empty. I thought maybe i just had a bad vacuum so i took it back and got another one, same exact one. This time the attachment worked very well!!! Only.. it still shuts off after 3 minutes of use. It takes me 4 hours just to accomplish my livingroom. I am taking this one back and i strongly recomend purchasing a different vacuum. Dirt Devil isn't that great!!! Good Luck.
