I bought this for my husband and it's like his new Xmas toy. It makes things do much easier for him when he does the yard. I swear if he could do all the neighbors yards he would. He keeps telling me it's the best thing I've bought him !!!
After using the standard hedge trimmer for a year I purchased the pole trimmer to get to the top of my hedge...it works great an uses the same 24v battery. It has plenty of power and battery life, and it seems well made. I don't mind the dual trigger system. The extension clamps work ok, but loosen too easily.
My bamboo hedge can grow a foot a week and I needed a trimmer that kept me on the ground with no ladder to climb . This trimmer keeps me safe and makes the chore quicker !
Both of my older corded extendable hedge trimmers of different brands were hard to reposition and stopped working. I already had a Greenworks extendable battery operated pole saw and that tool is so awesome that I purchased the adjustable battery operated Greenworks hedge trimmer and it is so much easier to adjust than the previous hedge trimmers. I can trim the top of 8' bushes easily. It looks like the tool would be heavy, but it isn't even holding it above my head. What used to take me 45 minutes dragging around the cord trimming the bushes in the front of my house now takes only 20 minutes with the Greenworks battery operated hedge trimmer. Since I already had the battery for the pole saw I didn't have to buy another battery for the hedge trimmer and the battery lasts easily through all my residential hedge trimming without having to recharge the battery. I was also very impressed with how long the battery charge lasted to cut tree limbs with the GWs pole saw. Tall weeds were growing up in my garden around my blueberry bush and the hedge trimmer made it look like the weeds were cut with a lawnmower. I never want to go back to corded yard tools. Good job Greenworks in helping us get yard work done quicker and getting on with our lives.
I have used a 40 volt hedge trimmer for probably 5 years now and I'm very happy with the performance the battery lasts probably an hour of continuous use
This is the second one of these hedger that I have owned. The first one bit the dust, and I was awaiting the reissue of a new one. This hedger is priced moderately, performs admirably, and makes my hedges the" envy of the neighborhood!" I really enjoy this cordless pole hedger!!
This is a powerful trimmer. It has large openings, so be careful of your fingers! It zips through the finer branches of hedges very efficiently. Easy to handle once you get the knack of it being on the pole.
used to trim apple trees worked great lots of battery power ,sure beats gas trimmer
We italians are known for fine cultured bushes. To get perfect cuts you need a fine hand on the cutting blade. This unit is so top heavy, you have to be pretty strong to make fine cuts. It is perfect for long tall flat featureless hedges or for keeping those runaway growth bushes from getting out of control. But you wont be cutting hedges into rabbit shapes. I may have to get the smaller unit for that..or (gasp) keep my corded unit. No need for ear protection+
Loved it while it lasted. Snapped in two the third year I owned it. The part that broke is not repairable and not in stock. Apparently, the way these break is very common.
