This is just what I wanted. It is a little heavy but not too much . I have a long high hedge and this trimmer makes the job easy for me.
Wonderful. Works well on battery charge. No complaints.
Powerful. Long reach. Surprisingly powerful battery. Took care of my HUGE hedge row in a fraction of the time it took me with my hand-held electric corded trimmer. Very happy!
My husband was having trouble reaching 10ft + height shrubs....so I showed him this one. He had not heard if this company but we gave it a try...He loves it.. It has 3 angles, and isn't to hear y for him....he used it for 3 hrs without any problems with the battery .... He's happy, so I'm happy!!!
The GreenWorks trimmer seems to be a good device. Of course it is a little heavy with the rechargeable battery, but that is to be expected I guess. I note that there is a space for a belt which I assume you could were around your neck or waist to help support the heavy trimmer, but no belt came with the trimmer. Too bad.

Using the G-Max to trim large wax myrtles and other tall southern ornamentals. Extended reach is real help trimming 12-15 ft shrubs. Does nice cutting job and battery has been outlasting me on yard projects. Extra length also gives you a better look at the hedge and the cutting results. Muti-positioning blade head is handy for trimming either at ground level or high overhead. Keeping my feet on the ground - no more balancing with a standard hedge trimmer on a 12 ft ladder. Very pleased. I'd definitely recommend the G-Max extended reach trimmer for normal-duty DIY yardwork.
I bought this trimmer to help with trimming privacy hedges that at places are almost 3 feet wide. On the plus side this trimmer has cut the time in half to cut these large hedges that are 6 plus feet tall. On the negative side is the weight of the pole trimmer as a lithium battery weight is a part of the weight of the trimmer. I wonder if anyone has thought of a plug in pole trimmer which should be maybe 5 to 8 lbs. lighter. Also the cutter stalls out much more frequently than my standard plug in Black and Decker hedge trimmer. In fact my Black and Decker never stalls out. I don't understand why. When it stalls out, cutting just regular twigs - not branches, I have to stop and push the extension piece back in. I have used the Greenworks trimmer 4 times now and this has happened all 4 times. I don't know if this is a defect of just my unit. If time savings cutting large hedges is your primary consideration, this Greenworks hedge trimmer maybe for you [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It's intended for really light duty work. Connection between cutter head and shafts kept losing contact resulting in tool not working.
I purchased this after my first ones handle cracked making it dangerous to use. Part of the problem is the plastic housing near the trigger where the screw pulled away from the handle.. I recommend you Heavily wrap the shaft with electrical tape to reenforce the handle just aft of the trigger. The newest battery (40V) is very heavy and renders the tool clumsy to use.
