I was happily surprised to find that I was able to tune it and play an actual song on it. I was under the impression that it was just a little kid's toy, but I think I liked it more than my 2 year old nephew. I loved it! :)

I purchased this for my 3 year old grandson for Christmas. It's a perfect size just for him and a great replica of the real thing. I think he is going to absolutely enjoy it, and the price was GREAT!

First of all people are giving this alot of bad reviews. The description says mini guitar. This is actually a soprano size ukulele. Customers are saying the strings are fishing line. It does not have fishing line on it. It is clear nylon strings that alot of music stores sell. The first thing you have to do is tune the instrument in the following notes...G-C-E-A. They well have to be tuned until the strings are stretched (nylon will take some time to stretch). I have this "mini guitar" and the first act's ukulele which is the same thing and have not had a problem with either instrument. the reason im being this blunt is because i have been playing ukulele for about a year and ive played alot of different types of ukuleles. And i have also been a bass player for 25 years. I know my instruments.

This guitar is a def a toy . Don't expect it to be able to have guitar lessons with this one . It's great for 13 to 24 months old . The sound that the string make is not that nice but it's so cheap it doesn't matter to me or to my son for that matter . He loves it so much that he always plays with it while humming away. Great toy :) Great price

Ukulele!

This is basically a ukulele, which is great for my 2 year old. The nylon strings are easier on little fingers. If you buy something this inexpensive, you shouldn't expect it to sound professional. I think the recommended age group should change to 2-5 instead of 4 and up. If you have an older child ready to learn I would recommend the bigger one with 6 strings, but this one is perfect for a 2 year old.

We bought this for our 3 1/2 yr old grandson for Christmas. He loves it!. My only negative is that the strings were not strung in the proper order - however, it can be restrung.

I read the other reviews and all I have to say is, if you want your child to be able to play songs or become a guitar player then don't get this one. It is what it says, a mini guitar, description says 18" and the picture shows only four strings. I already knew what to expect. The strings are white/clear and I guess they do look like "fishing string" but there is an option to tune them if you want them to have a better sound. I got this as a gift to my three year old son. I could care less if it played the right notes and sounded like a real guitar. My son is pretty small for his age so I guess this was a good size. All I could say is he loves Disney's/Pixar's Cars or Lightening Mcqueen, he likes making lots of noise, and this was small enough that he could carry around with him where and whenever he liked. It made him happy and that's what I'm satisfied with and I guess at least it didn't go over twenty dollars or I would have wrote an awful review. Age range should change though, for probably 1 - 3 years old.

It is kinda cheaply made and very small for the suggested age(4 yrs) . Luckily I bought this for a two yr old and it fit him perfectly, but im sure he will outgrow it quickly. I wouldnt have paid full price for this because the quality wasnt worth that much, but since I got it on clearance, it was a great deal!

I've never written a review before as I'm usually never seriously disappointed with a product. But, there's a first time for everything. I bought this online for my 3 year old son as a Christmas present. When I received it I couldn't believe I had spent $13 bucks on this! It is WAY smaller than I imagined it would be and it is very cheaply made. It seriously looks and feels like something I picked up at the the Dollar Store. The "strings" are nothing more than fish line in my opinion and therefore don't even make a pleasant sound. Needless to say I am returning this and I absolutely do not recommend it.
