The comedy-drama program Doc Martin originally debuted on Britain's ITV in early September 2004, and quickly attained a substantial degree of popularity. The program starred Martin Clunes as Dr. Martin Ellingham, a foul-tempered surgeon who relocates to Cornwall, England and sets up a practice there. Series Four finds Dr. Ellingham growing ever nastier following a calamity on the day of his nuptials; ex-fiancée Louisa (Caroline Catz) has fled Cornwall to escape embarrassment. Just when Martin is ready to return to London and take up surgery, however, a number of unforeseen circumstances arrive, including Louisa's sudden decision to move back to Cornwall, and the arrival of Edith Montgomery (Lia Williams) an old flame of Martin's. This particular box set features all eight episodes from Series Four, as they originally aired on English television.
