I must have been looking at a lot of dollhouses online before I picked this one, because I was expecting it to show up white. My husband put it together Christmas Eve while I was wrapping presents and when I walked in to see the finished product I couldn't get over how cute it was. I love the painted details. It's the perfect size for my 3-year-old to use as a dollhouse for now, and I like that she can use it as a bookcase later. The shelves are too short for Barbie size dolls to stand up, but other than that I don't see any problems. Directions weren't the best, but it was do-able.
Love this bookcase. I put it together myself while watching t.v. in less than an hour. All parts organized and color coated. Shelves and backing, etc. numbered. Don't ask hubby to do it if he won't read directions. Definately a great bookcase for the cost. Pretty, great storage, unique.
We got this as a gift for our 4 year old. She has many books and her shelves in her room are too high on the wall for her to reach...this was the PERFECT thing for her. Not only is it the perfect size and holds all of her books, but it matches her princess decor perfectly. I was so easy to put together (took me approx 30 minutes), seems very durable, and is very reasonably priced. VERY SATISFIED and would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!
I bought this for my 2 year old for Christmas and it is absolutely adorable. I love the lift up roof and all of the painted detail. For the most part, it was fairly easy to put together, you just need to take your time and pay attention to the directions.
My 6-years old daughter got this bookcase for Christmas. We didn't want to spend a lot of money since she's only 6. This bookcase was more than we expected for the price we paid. It's very sturdy, not to mention attractive for a little girl's bedroom. Very easy to put together. This bookcase can also be used for your little girls to play with her dolls.
This is a sturdy bookcase I bought to put in my one year-old's room and we love it. The shelves are big enough to fit storage baskets, books, toys, stuffed animals or whatever. I would highly recommend this for the price and convenience of Site To Store which saves greatly on S&H costs.
This is a great bookcase for your child's room. Sturdy on its own but comes with the wall retaining strap in case you don't trust it. Our 4 year old daughter loves it. Now she can organize all of her books by type on the five main spaces on the shelves while utilizing the top part that flips up for her dolls as a place for their "sleepover" at night. Only took 10 min to put together. The only negative is when opening the flip-up part all the way, the hinge makes a loud snapping sound when it locks that scared me daughter the first time she opened it all the way. Now that she knows it makes the sound, she loves using it. A great bookcase!
We love this bookshelf. I put it together myself with little trouble. Our 2.5 year old daughter loves it. She really likes hiding books behind the door and the top compartment. Paint job is really cute! Only wish it had at least one section for larger books as other reviews have mentioned.
I started by looking for a bookshelf for my 3 year old daughters room. This model appeared to fit most of my needs as far size and design. The bookcase took about 20 minutes to assemble. The directions could be more detailed, they only show pictures. The parts are labeled well but you need to make sure to line up the grooved sides and check which way to install the door on the lower front so you dont have to backtrack. The bookcase seems sturdy and she loves playing with the hidden attic area and lower door plus all of her books fit on the shelves.
I bought this for my three and five year olds, who have tons of books. After all the great reviews, I expected more. The bookcase looks cute, but is not really functional as a true bookcase. It does not accomodate large books vertically, so they have to be put in sideways which makes most of them inaccessible to my 3 year old. It also looks sort of cheap next to other furniture in their bedroom. They do enjoy playing with it as a dollhouse though. I probably wouldn't have purchased it if I had seen it in person first.
