Too Thick, Too Small

These grippers are so thick that they lift the parts of my quilting rulers that don't have a gripper off of the fabric, which allows the fabric to move toward my rotary cutter as I am cutting. I want straight cuts, not waves. It would take multiple packages to be effective on my 24-inch ruler and the 16.5-inch square. I used the thin pieces of rubbery material between the grippers on a few of my smaller rulers, and that works better. I had to move the grippers away from the edge of the rulers so that I can stand them up in my wooden ruler rack. I think I will try a small Omnigrip ruler to see if that style ruler will work for me. I also tried a gripping film but it wore smooth and didn't grip anymore.
