Bought this Generator a month ago because I needed a bigger one with electric start due to health conditions. Could not be easier to use. Putting it together was very easy.
Love the generator but the pictures in the book for installation (which is easy) could have been a little brighter as it was very hard to see the pictures.. Overall very pleased.
Everything went well in the set-up of the machine. Worked as advertised. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I have only own this generator a couple of weeks, had to buy oil, "no big deal" didn't expect it, because I would have grab some from Walmart prior to leaving. Got item running confirmed it ran a few items, but I now need to connect to the house to confirm it does what I want it to do lol.
I received this generator a few days ago (shipping took nearly 3 weeks and tracking was awful as the item was handled by 3 different shipping companies). However, Setup was easy. When I was finished I found the instructions and actually had done it correctly. I purchased the generator for standby emergency use so I haven't had to use it for anything more than connecting to my existing system and checking it out. It started easily and once I got the correct cable connector attached to my Line-In cable, everything worked perfectly. I really appreciated the inclusion of a variety of plug ends that match the configuration of the receptacles on the generator. That saved me lot of time and some money. I also like the idle feature allows the machine to run all the time or drop to an idle until an appliance turns on and demands power. It claims a 74 Db rating. I haven't checked that (don't know the distance to take a measurement) But it is substantially quieter than my old 5000 watt generator. All of the switches, receptacles etc. are labeled nicely. It came with all the tools needed to assemble which would be handy if needed. I had my own tools so not an issue for me. It's all good so far.
Duromax xp10000E. Very good generator I run everything in house except central A/C&heat and install connticut energ 10 circuit transfer switch everything works well it not big deal I wish had away to keep battery tender on battery. May hook 2 wires to battery hook battery tender other that is Duromax generator has very good investment
When I was shopping online I chose a duel fuel model when it arrived it is gas powered only I would like to return but don't want to go thru the hassle Disappointed.
I purchased this generator back in 2016, and it ran well for the first year. After that, it was terrible. I couldn't get it to start. I replaced the engine's carburetor thinking that would fix the problem, and it did but for only a minute. The engine started and ran before it shortly blew up. A few days ago I decided I would pull it apart and see if it was salvageable. The first thing I found was a big hole in the top of the head. Being optimistic, I decided I would swap out the engine for a replacement. However, as I unmounted the engine from the generator I found a problem. I noticed that the generator turbine was stuck and not moving freely. I came to the conclusion that the turbine's jamming is what caused the engine to blew up. I also noticed that the metal used on both the engine and generator was extremely flimsy. I had purchased a 3 year warranty but was unable to find until a couple years ago. (That's a whole nother story.) If you are considering buying a DuroMax generator, DON'T! Stay away from them! If I could I would give it -4 stars.
This was to be the generator to save our family from suffering from power outages. It was put to the test after Hurricane Irma and it failed after running for 20 minutes. The generator was bought in July 2015, set up to house panel, test run and stored until needed. The test run showed everything working. Unfortunately, it was only tested for about 15 minutes. When run after the hurricane on 9/11/17 it started browning out after 20 minutes of running and, out of concern for damage to the house, appliances and generator, it was shut down. Later preliminary testing by an engineer showed that the power was surging. Output went from 240 volts to less than 100. The machine is in the shop waiting further testing and repair. Although the machine has less than 5 hours total running time, neither Walmart nor the manufacturer will honor the warranty because the 1 year parts warranty has expired.
Mine lasted 10 months..... Valve broke inside. Warranty is only for parts.
