There are a lot of 1-star reviews on here from people who are upset about the change from agave to sugar as a sweetener. Unfortunately, they seem to be ignorant of many studies in recent years that have knocked agave off the throne of healthy sugar substitutes. People who are closely managing blood glucose should avoid agave. The high fructose content can reduce insulin sensitivity and may worsen liver health. Agave is also a higher-calorie sweetener than table sugar. Agave syrup is much higher in fructose than plain sugar, it has greater potential to cause adverse health effects, such as increased belly fat and fatty liver disease. More recent studies indicate Allulose might be an significantly better alternative sweetener but this is still leading edge research at this time.
Just bought today on a whim. Had low expectations on taste as with most lower sugar peanut butter but I think this one tastes surprisingly delicious! I am shocked to see the low star reviews as I got on here just to see if others enjoyed it as much as me. I am not dissecting the ingredients but as far as taste and value for the price, I'll be buying this again.
For all the reviews on here regarding the loss of Agave, as if that were some high nutrition safe ingredient, I want to tell you, you are wrong. Sugar is actually better for you, in moderation. From Google: "Agave is not a healthful replacement for table sugar. Especially for people who are closely managing blood glucose, agave should be avoided. The high fructose content can reduce insulin sensitivity and may worsen liver health. Agave is also a higher-calorie sweetener than table sugar."
I bought this for the inclusion of flaxseed and I fell in love. As an autistic person I've never found a peanut butter that is sensory safe and delicious for me, until this. Now it's out of stock everywhere and I'm terrified they won't make it anymore.
Delicious, nutritious, what's not to love! No stir, 200 mg. Of ALA per serving, no refrigeration. Does have palm oil, but very low in sugar. Tastes like name brands, but healthier.
Wow!!! Before buying it, I read most comments and they were all so good, and now I can agree with them. This peanut butter spread is super delicious, well made and the quality is really good! Simply healthy and delicious. You wont regret having it in your apartment!
This is the stickiest peanut butter I've ever eaten, and it's filled all the way to the top of the jar. You don't have to stir it, the oils are blended in very well. It's got a peanut taste that reminds me more of boiled peanuts than roasted, but it's undeniably peanuts, and it's just sweet enough and not too sweet. Give it a try on apples, it will not fall off the apple slices it's that sticky.
I took off 2 stars because this contains Palm Oil. I try to read all of the ingredients BEFORE I buy a product, but this one got by me. The cultivation of palms for oil is a hugely destructive agricultural practice, primarily grown in tropical countries. Many oily food products, e.g. Nutella and many nut butters, choose to use Palm Oil as an emulsifier to keep the various ingredients from separating. To me, there is nothing 'natural' about a peanut butter that contains anything more than peanuts with (or without) salt. Period.
I used to buy this because I like my peanut butter sweet, but can't eat sugarcane. Now the ingredients on the website/app list agave still, but the ingredients on the one I receive include sugar instead.
Arrived with sticky oil all over outside. Threw away. Will never purchase again.
