Purchased to bore holes to install a retaining wall and dock. Lots of power, easy to use.
I tried a competitors brand before I bought this one. I am extremely pleased with the design of the auger and power of the Briggs engine. The Auger starts easily on the first or 2nd pull. The throttle on it ramps up and down for easier handling of the digging. Be careful you will drive this auger pretty deep and have a difficult time pulling it up. Over all I am extremely pleased with the quality and ease of use.
I bought this a few months ago to help in planting over 60 small trees and it worked great!
I bought this auger head to replace an aging one that I had. I run a remodeling company and build lots of decks. We use this auger head with a 12" bit. It has plenty of power to break up the clay rich soil in my area! If you plan on storing the machine for any length of time let it run until it's out of fuel and store it dry. I built a wooden cradle to store the head.
Very useful addition to my tool collection. Saves me so much time vs the old way of digging holes. It fires right up when ever I need it and has the right amount of speed and torche. With two people it's very easy to knock out many wholes.
Bought this unit a month ago for planting trees and setting fence post using the 8” bit unit starts up easy and the centrifugal clutch is nice too very happy with my purchase
This is a good product and the price is great. Renting one of these at a equipment rental is about a fifth of the price of buying it. I did have a couple of minor issues with the fuel system. First thing I recommend is spray out the whole system with carb cleaner. The engine is manufactured in Wisconsin so there's going the be some condensation in the system and sitting in a warehouse until it ships out means that there a chance for gunk to start humming up the carb. Also there is no information on adjusting the carb for elevation. I live at 7500 feet so it didn't start right out of the box. The engine manufacturer's nearest certified repair shop is over 100 miles away. There set screw is a Phillips head and there is a hole in the sheet metal above and to the left of the On/Off switch that will allow you to get to this. I recommend setting the choke to half choke and giving the cord 3 or 4 tugs to start it. If it doesnt turn over turn the adjustment screw clockwise afull turn and repeat the process. Once it's started and warmed up turn off the choke and do the final adjustment on the carb.
I bought this a year ago and have not been disappointed yet! It always does the job and has only broken a shaft bolt one time since I've had it.
I bought this to get a contract at a pet shelter for half the cost as the other guy. It allowed me to get in to the kennels and drill my holes without tearing the chain link down. It works great but I am disappointed that the 14” auger has been discontinued. I really wanted that.
Bolt on shaft for auger bent on first day of use. It uses way too much oil. If you forget to oil it, it will probably ruin the motor because I have to put a lot of oil in it every time.
